Called ahead to confirm 4AM or later check-in would be okay, and was told it would be. When I showed up at 4:15AM the next day, absolutely exhausted, no one was at the desk. Apparently the front desk person was getting breakfast ready. When she went to check me in, I saw the sheet was labeled "3:30AM no show" at the top left. I went up to my room and immediately looked for a DO NOT DISTURB sign, which I could not find. I assumed from the note on the sheet that I would not be disturbed, so I showered and went to bed. At 9AM the next morning cleaning is knocking on my door, when I had to yell through the door repeatedly, they said that "they would be back." I had to go out and open the door to tell them do not return. It wasn't until the next night that I discovered the Do Not Disturb sign - someone had slid it almost entirely under the TV stand on the left side, away from the door. Please ensure the DO NOT DISTURB signs are easily located in each room, or ensure that guests who arrived very late are not disturbed the following morning by the cleaning crew. Your own internal documentation shows when a guest arrives very late. There is no reason for this to happen, and frankly, I have never had this happen in all my travels. This feels like gross oversight from the perspective of the guest.

Pool was not clean. Gate was broken. The bathroom needs an update. Caulk is starting to mildew, etc. Room overall was clean, but smelled musty when we walked in. For the price and reputation of hi-ex we expected more.

A+ customer service

Staff was so very accommodating. We traveled 14 hours by car and about 2 1/2 hours prior to arriving, I made the reservation on hotels.com. Not sure if I inadvertently tried wrong date or you can’t make reservations for same date but I didn’t verify before accepting non refundable rate. I called hotel directly and they told me they thought they could change it. When I arrived I was told they had made a mistake and they could change it but they would let us stay without payment as they get payment the next night from hotels .com. . I offered to pay and they they could reimburse me later. Very impressed with all the work that Amelia at front desk and (perhaps her manager) did to work with me. They never once made me feel like I was putting them out for my own mistake. Highly recommend for customer service. My only minor complaint was the beds were too firm for my liking but I would still stay again knowing how much their staff values their customers

There weren’t any coffee for breakfast. The front desk person complained that he doesn’t get paid enough to handle the breakfast area when the attendant is doing something else. When I went to turn my keys in he didn’t come out of the back area to check and another person also just left his card on the desk.
