This place is super ghetto, I can only conclude that the positive reviews are all bogus. It is old, run down, dirty, noisy, and smells bad. The mattress was blown out and ancient, I just hope that we didn't get bedbugs but I would not be surprised. There were insects in the room, hair in the sheets, and the bathroom smelled of mold and mildew. There are chickens roaming the property, so be prepared for an early wakeup - assuming that you slept at all with the constant road noise through the paper-thin walls. The wifi doesn't work and cell reception is bad, so forget about distracting yourself with internet. If you like a third world vibe maybe this place will appeal to you, otherwise spare yourself. Just yuk!

Better than expected.

I had read some negative reviews and several good ones, so I wasnt sure about this place. However, it was better than I expected. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice. You can tell the age of the resort around the baseboards that needed cleaned and a good paint job. Honestly though, I would stay here again. It was right off the highway in a good location. The pool looked clean and the sitting area on the water was very nice. And yes, there are roosters roaming! We loved them! Not too expensive for the Keys, especially the end of March and first week of April!
