They try, but never again

I was at Sonesta for 6 nights for work in the city. We had two rooms, the first two nights were uneventful, comfortable. The third night my daughter (in the other room) comes to my room angry and grossed out because she found a bug in her room. I thought maybe a lady bug or ant, but after seeing it, it was a coch roach. Not one, but two climbing on the wall. We went down to the front desk, showed the lady the picture and she insisted it was a box elder bug. I don’t know a lot about bugs, but I do know a roach when I see one. Front desk lady moved my daughter to another room where she stayed for 3 hours and checked out and came to my room. Asked the front desk and manager what or if there is anything they can do for my daughter (refund some of her night, anything) and I never did hear back. When I was checking out there was a lady and her kids that were checking in and they were having all sorts of problems with their computers charging her card multiple times. Other issues, the lock on the door to my room kept sticking open. Had to aggressively press the handle three or four times before I could shut the door. Was offered a different room, but I had just put all my stuff away for the week. So I dealt with it. Housekeeping manager came up and said it’s a door problem. Nothing he could do about it. Shower had barely any water pressure. Bathroom had absolutely no ventilation so every smell from anything lingered for hours. TVs are old so some channels work, not all.

I lost my wallet last week and I didn't have the required photo ID when I wanted to check in. The person at the front desk was VERY helpful in helping me work around this and get checked in without any penalties and only a 15 minute delay. I really appreciate his help.

Not for me.

Like other guests mentioned the breakfast is embarrassing. I unfortunately had extremely noisy people next to our room (thats not the hotels fault). They were yelling and crying until usually 4am. On my second call to the front desk it seemed to stop.

Almost everything was very good. Only things that were inconvenient was that there is no microwave in the room and going all the way to a microwave at the lobby wasn’t ideal, specially when the microwave isnt clean and no table or anything around it to make it an easier. The ice machine on 2nd floor wasn’t working so that was also a bummer. Absolutely loved how quiet is the place.

The pictures of the room were deceiving. The room was small and there was no sofa, just a chair. The pool was cold and the hot tub that is in the pictures is no longer there. This is why I had booked this hotel. The fire pits outside were never lit.

My boys and i were excited about 2 things. The pool and the breakfast…unfortunately both sucked. The pool was cold small and had ants all around the side. The breakfast was not 3 star quality. It had bread, bagels, milk, coffee and yogurt. Oh and 2 crappy cereals. That’s it.

Someonedecided he needed to smoke at 2:30 in the morning causing fire alarms to go off twice then I had to listen to the fire department going through the hallways a 3:18 in the morning. Missed a lot of sleep and all I got was a sorry apology.
