Family Beach Trip

Westwinds is showing its age and needs a good cleaning and updating. Our unit had a view of the sunset which I really loved but could also use some updating. The golf cart was not available which was a real disappointment but I was offered another unit not on the beach. The management company was very prompt with issuing me a refund for the non use of the golf cart. we. Overall we enjoyed our beach vacay with the grandchildren

We totally enjoyed our stay at this property. It was just as advertised and met all of our needs. Very convenient to the beach and a wonderful pool. Very family friendly. The sound of the waves crashing was peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.

The overall Westwind property was very nice. The individual condo was neat and clean. The only negative was the carpet in the bedrooms is old and is in serious need of replacement.

Lovely condo with the perfect location to everything!

The condo was beautiful, clean and well stocked with kitchen gadgets. The view from the balcony was perfection! The beach is just steps from the pool. Evening activities are so close with the condos own 6 person golf cart. We went to Publix, dinner at Bay Towne Wharf and exploring all on the golf cart. A few things that need updating are the patio furniture and the rug in the living room. The carpet in the bedroom is starting to need replaced. The furniture in the condo was very nice, the beds were very comfortable. We would love to come back to Sandestin, this was our second visit to the same building, the area is just perfect!

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this poperty a 6.

Needs updating..Carpet was old and dirty looking. Rug located in the den was awful. I would not choose to stay at this property in the future.

Nice

Just a couple of issues, a few of the outlets do not work and the fan button in the living room was also not working. These weren't major issues so we did not bother the property manager. the major issue was with the golf cart, which I read there would be no refund for if it was not working properly. It does need to be fixed, one of the batteries isn't in good shape and needs replaced immediately before it catches fire. It had sparks and we were unable to use it the last 2 days of our stay. Other than those issues the property is really nice, clean and we loved it.

Fine property, but pictures misleading

The location is ideal for the beach, but the pictures listed are different than what is actually in the rental. The unit has been updated with new bathrooms, and kitchen, but bedroom carpet is original (or needs replaced). The recliner in the living room is not there, but rather two really uncomfortable recliners, one of which was patched with blue painters tape. The beds were ok, but I would suggest packing extra pillows and linens.

Great views!!

I love the location and the views of this property! Both bedrooms and main living area had beautiful views of the ocean. This was perfect for my elderly mom that couldn't make it often to the beach but could sit on the balcony and enjoy it! The beach and pool were a very short walk-perfect again for my mom and my 2 year old niece!

Unacceptable management

We enjoyed the property as a whole; however, our unit was dirty when we arrived at 4:30 p.m. We called management to inquire about the unit not being cleaned and was advised that someone would be back to clean the unit. After driving 6+ hours, we had to "buy time" for approximately 5 hours until the unit was ready after 9:00 p.m. Management offered to waive the cleaning fee, and I suggested also crediting our first night's stay since we didn't have access to the unit until around 9:30 p.m. We left early Saturday morning and informed housekeeping of our early departure so they could get in to have the unit ready for the next guests. I have yet to hear back from management regarding any waiver of fees or credit for our stay.

Beautiful resort condominium with great views of the beach and ocean

I would have given 5 stars but for the communication with the property managers after checkin. The app and checkin instruction were good. But it was a long wait for response to messages. There is no live help after the working hours and you cannot reach any one for simple answers. Like access to close by Tennis Courts that are locked or how to get Uber Eats to deliver in this gated community and the building that is not accessible via an code protected gate. Other issue was extra sensitive water leak detection which shuts off the water. We could not see any water leaked, but twice the water was disconnected - once in the middle of shower - though the tripping alarm was from a sensor in the kitchen. The water was restored almost immediately by the monitoring service after our call to them. Except for the above inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay. The beach views, beach access, sunsets and sunrises were Great. The resort community is very well maintained. The Tennis center is great, though there is steep fee if the booking is not directly through the Sandestin Resort (ours was through VRBO). There were couple of courts next to our building - though they were locked and we could not get in. The resort has golf courses that we did not use, they have village commons where there are restaurants and other novelty shops. Marina is nice and you can rent water sports. Also had a golf cart at our disposable which we didn’t use much. The condo was nice on the 10th floor. Great balcony views of the beach and sunsets. Kitchen had utensils, cook wares and cutlery for any cooking and enjoying carry outs and drinks. Overall we recommend this place, would have been perfect with better reachable staff.
