The location of Hotel Pacific is hard to beat. The proximity to Fisherman’s Wharf and Alvarado Street is fantastic, and it’s a half hour walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The architecture of the property is wonderful, with a Spanish flair, but there is some deferred maintenance. Our two bed suite was more updated, clean, lovely and large. We were on the top floor so we had a vaulted ceiling, and the gas fire place adds wonderful ambiance. The breakfast does not include any hot food, and is mainly bagels, muffins, yogurt, etc, but it’s not why we like staying there. This is our 3rd time staying at the property, and we would be happy to stay again.

Great location and room! Only problem we had was upon check in our elevator to our section of rooms was out of service and they didn’t notify us until after we went to use it (we had to go to the 3rd floor with my elderly grandma). We went back into the office and requested a different room but it was very inconvenient and there was a possibility they wouldn’t have a different room. Very unprofessional of the office staff.

We reserved the luxury room to enjoy , we found that the fire place is not working, lot of spiders web around the exit patio door , we reserved upper level , they give us lower one close to dirts. Breakfast was terrible and only 1 lady over all the breakfast time. We did not able to find anything to eat except bagel and toast. The bad thing that we asked about egg plain and we found that the egg was full of beans and some other meats where we don t eat so our experience was terrible.

I would’ve given a 5 star review but ….we were told to use a certain elevator, possibly the only elevator that takes us to our room on the third floor, but it was “out of service”. My husband is 73 and carried a lot of luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I feel more communication between staff and guests would be helpful. We’ve stayed there once before with no complaints.

This might have been the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. My daughter wanted to take a bath, and as I started the water, I noticed multiple hairs throughout the bath tub (long and short, different colors). The bath towel that was placed on the rack had a very noticeable food particle stuck to it. Tjere was also a large hair on the wall in the bathroom where the toilet is. There was a large hair tie on the floor, in open space (not under furniture or anything). All of this was indicative of poor cleanliness and sanitation practices, but it was late at night that we discovered these things and we were too exhausted to request a new room. For about $300 for the night (including $22 to park in their garage that has *extremely* tight parking spaces), I expected better maintenance. The room itself was fine and nice, but due to the lack of cleanliness, I would not recommend this hotel.
