Not great

I called to request an early check in. Person answering the phone was rude and told me they don’t allow that. Seemed very odd. Barely average hotel at best. Not clean or unkept. Won’t stay here again.

The hotel’s location is excellent. It is across the street from the Lovers Point and a short walk to downtown Pacific Grove, with great dining and shopping choices. Monterey’s Cannery Row is not too far away. The hotel building needs some updates, but is decent utilizing the room space effectively. Walls are thin. With the hallway right in front of the rooms, ocean views and privacy suffer. Services are minimal. Parking is tight.

Normally when i stay here i love it and 5 stars always. But today we stayed in room 102 and had the ceiling in the bathroom vent leaked on us. When i told the front desk yesterday (may 19th around 5pm) they just gave us towels and i was confused by the non seriousness of the front desk but thought hey, whatever, i guess. Then this morning it was leaking again on my husband while he was using the bathroom. I told the front desk (may 20 around 9am) that it was happening again and this boy was confused that it happened a first time and nothing was done about it and then called his superior. The boy was apologetic and kind and when asked if he should discount us i heard the man he was talking to on the phone say "why would you offer them a discount. They didnt even ask for it." Toyally rude. To me and the front desk boy who if i was mean would take all the brunt of my anger not the superior. The boy gave me a discount after i asked him for one and im planning on emailing the manager/superior tomorrow about my anger at the superior and the first front desk guy that acted like it was no big deal. I have a video of the worst leaking, it was flooding the bathroom floor and the carpet.

Great experience - they let us check in an hour early, we could park in their lot far before our visit, and the experience was wonderful. You don't get a better location! And the room was clean and quiet. Would highly recommend!!

Though this would be a nice hotel from the photos and location. Its really run down and dated, and construction happening all day every day we were there. The TV was so tiny, blurry, old, and literally on the other side of the room in the farthest point so we couldn't see anything and therefore couldn't use it. Paint peeling, bathroom dark yellow everything and so small you couldn't close the door while standing in front of the toilet. Was definitely tricked by the photos.
