The staff at this hotel is welcoming and professional. We enjoyed an excellent evening during cocktail hour just sitting and listening to the piano as the waves crashed not ten feet away. Lovely location-the lobby also smells FANTASTIC.

Amazing concierge services. We took a day long road trip to this hotel and their concierge desk stayed connected with us throughout the day making sure our room is set to our expectations. I had preordered flowers to be delivered to our hotel but had used a wrong address and concierge managed to have it fixed. The only item that raised my eyebrows was cost of valet parking as they don’t have self parking but the valet team does an amazing job.

Outstanding

We were a family of 9 adults and every single person in our group talked about how impressed we all were with this hotel. The location, the food, the cleanliness, the amenities, the atmosphere, the decor - almost everything was 5 star. The only thing I would change is the mattress - it was uncomfortable and every time my husband or I moved the whole mattress would wobble. The waitstaff working at the function we attended definitely need more training about how to talk to each other in front of the guests. But that's negligible. I would stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa again and again. It is excellent.
