Disappointed

We were disappointed in the Pelican Inn. It is obviously a tired old property that they are doing the best they can with but it needs work. Our room had a king bed and a fireplace but we didn't want to light the Preato log because of all the black soot on the ceiling. Our hvac unit I think had been there forever was incredibly noisy most of the time. The towels we're Motel 6 quality. No coffee anywhere. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was good and check in was quick and easy. It is also pretty conviently located. Parking is tight but it's free. I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend this property.

Disappointed

Not as advertised! They only have an ice machine, no coffee no food. Laundry is 1/2 mile down @ another hotel.The outdoor areas are full of cigarette butts & dog poop. No pets allowed but the owner has a couple. The bbq is rusted & dirty. The rooms are run down, but bed was comfy & shower was good. This place is on a sketchy corner. Turn left and go back streets to your destinations (Montery & Cannery Row) & there's a Dennys that way too.

One staff member on the phone was very snarky for no apparent reason. He seemed to be offended by some very ordinary questions. There was a half done paint job in our room. The property did seem fairly clean but somewhat shabby. Don't stay here if you have other options.

Great stay!

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel! The property was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what really stood out was the management. They were incredibly kind and went out of their way to accommodate us. Traveling on motorcycles, we often run into parking issues, but not here—they provided us with ample parking space and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear they care about their guests and understand the needs of riders. Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re traveling on two wheels. We’ll definitely be back!

The room was clean, had fireplace. The location of the hotel was also great, near del monte shopping center, which was great to grab your morning coffee n quick breakfast before you go on beach or wherever you plan for. The only thing I don’t like is their hair dryier but other than that the staff, parking, location, cleanliness all were 5/5.

From the check in it was uncomfortable, my guest not only had to park on busy street we were followed to our cars by the manager to tell us ( again ) to move her car. The room had very bad repairs to ceiling, bathroom etc. I work in home improvement so I was really shocked by the carelessness. Also no maid service, so no fresh towels or dumped trash. I not sure whats up with this place.

I enjoyed staying at Pelican Inn. It was comfortable and quiet and staff were helpful and friendly. Check in and check out were easy. My only quibble would be the safety deposit, whereby $100 was held and released. It was paid back within 2 days and didnt present a problem to me because i had underspent on my holiday and had the funds. Had this not been the case it would have caused me some issues.

Not My Favorite

I got to the hotel and the woman at the front desk wasn't very kind and extremely slow. After getting to the room i was surprised to see the fire alarm dangling from the wall and the light on the bedside had its on/off knob ripped off. The bathroom was a whole other story, the shower curtain had mold on it. I was expecting a quite room (since it advertised that it is soundproof) but it really wasnt the neighbors seemed to be “banging on the walls” a lot and you can hear everything in the room above. I wish the room was better, I will not be staying here again.
