If you’re searching for an authentic cabin—one with history, charm, and handmade details—Cedarwood Cabin awaits. Hand-built in 1922 and lovingly restored, this is real Mount Hood heritage, ready to transport you back in time for quiet evenings of connection.
At the heart of the cabin is a beautiful enamel woodstove. Light a fire, settle into the cozy couch, and let the evening unfold with books, board games, vintage records, warm blankets, and the soft glow of vintage lighting.
Sleeping & Layout
Cedarwood is a classic one-room cabin, ideal for couples. The double bed sleeps two, and the futon couch folds down for an additional sleeping spot.
(Please note: the open floor plan offers minimal privacy.)
Kitchenette
The kitchen is simple but well-equipped with essentials: a plug-in hot plate, griddle, microwave, coffee grinder, French press, and a full assortment of dishes, utensils, and cookware. There is no oven. Prefer a night out? Restaurants and brewpubs in Welches are just minutes away.
Bathroom
The bathroom is only a step outside the back door (with covered entry). Inside, it’s fully remodeled with a subway-tile shower, sink, toilet, cedar shelves, and a twist-timer heater for comfort during chilly mornings or evenings.
For Guests Accustomed to Modern Homes
You can absolutely fall in love with Cedarwood’s charm—but please know this is a true cabin, rustic and simple by design. You won’t find a TV or modern luxury finishes. You will find history, character, and handmade, old-world craftsmanship.
What You’ll Love
• No TV—just books on hiking, wildflowers, and Mount Hood history
• Soft blankets, handmade pillows, and a snug couch for reading or cuddling
• The peaceful patter of rain on the roof
The Setting
Cedarwood sits on a small loop road of cabins and homes—quiet, safe, and neighborly. You may see someone walking a dog, but privacy is well respected. From inside, your view is filled entirely with trees.
Conveniently located just off Highway 26:
• <5 miles to Welches
• 5–10 miles to popular trailheads
• 15–30 miles to ski areas
• Easy year-round access; no 4WD required
RUSTIC BY DESIGN
This is not a modern home styled to look like a cabin—it is a cabin. Think glamping meets history: cozy, quirky, and full of character. If you enjoy yurts, lookout towers, tiny houses, or treehouses, Cedarwood will feel like magic.
