The staff was excellent. It was in an odd building but was still nice. Breakfast was wonderful. Front desk only staffed till 2 I like someone full time but it is a little hotel which I like.

Great room! The only problem was the shower was missing one of its doors, so it couldn’t close and was half open. This made it very hard to shower without getting water everywhere in the bathroom, but you can do it if you’re very careful lol. Besides that, the room was awesome. Perfect in every other way. I would give it 5 stars, if the shower was fixed.

Staff were good and easy to work with. Rooms were not very clean. Walls and floors couldve have been swept and mopped. Close to train station and about a 10 minute walk to buses thay give tours

The location was great, close to train station and in easy walking distance of Octoberfest. The people at the desk not really pleasant. If you want a coffee to go at the hotel which the hotel says is one of their perks, make sure to ask-they didn’t offer. Overall a nice stay for a day or two.

We only stayed for one night, but location was great for transportation and walkably to most tourist areas we wanted to see. Located close to food options which was great and easy as we arrived late. Reception was welcoming and helpful, would stay here again.

Would not stay again. Would not recommend.

Clean room. Very small. No AC. Was very hot. Facing the main station so very noisy. And we couldn't close the windows as there was no AC. This was a bait and switch. We ordered a couple room and got 2 single beds. Staff looked friendly but said they have no other rooms to change for us. They offered no compensation. They did offer a refund while chuckled if you want to find another place (this was 10 pm).

Prime location, opposite the hauptbahnhof and 15 min walk to the bus station. The Lufthansa Express bus station is near the hotel. Reception staff were very helpful and polite.

It was ok for what we paid. The room was very small and cramped. Definitely not enough room for 4 peoples bags, we were on top of each other. The window did open, but into the middle of the room, right above a bed so not ideal. View was non existent, it was over a flat roof with lots of industrial pipes and we could see into others flats across the roof. Room was well used and had many signs of wear and tear included the desk which had no chair and was very wobbly. Lights by the bed were good and the bathroom was clean and fairly spacious. There was very little ability to ventilate the room and it was extremely hot (but there was a heat wave at the time). No kettle, although apparently we could have free tea and coffee we were not made aware of this when we checked in and saw no signs of this to inform us. Great location for the train station. The room was probably the worst we stayed in while travelling around Germany and Austria, it was also the most expensive. We stayed at a a youth hostel in Munich as well and that was far better and cheaper.

My two daughters and I loved our stay at Hotel Amba, all the staff are so friendly, the reception area is really comfortable and quiet, a lovely place to relax, the room was great and very reasonable for the costs and the coffee was delicious! Thanks to everyone at Hotel Amba, we’ll be back next year to finish exploring Munich as we enjoyed it here so much!

A very basic hotel. Dated establishment fairly clean. It didn't advertise amenities like air conditioning or a refrigerator but with temperatures in the mid 90's I came to regret my choice. A small 12" fan did little to increase comfort. The internet didn't work or the phone. With so little to offer to guests, they need to get everything right. They fell short.
