Poor communication/over charged

I paid for an ocean front suite and when we got there they had over booked and moved my room to an ocean view side, yet told me it was still Ocean front. And I was charged for ocean front when I did not receive it. Normally this hotel is great to be at with great communication, but the check in process was a long and slow 45 min-1 hr wait in line and then they downgraded my room without telling me until I got to the room and saw for myself.

I was very disappointed with the check-in experience. Although check-in was supposed to start at 4:00 PM, we didn’t get our room until after 6:00 PM. We had to wait in a long, crowded line, and the staff at the front desk were unhelpful and dismissive. I was traveling with my family and a small child after a long trip from another state, and this was not the welcome we expected. The poor communication, delay, and rude attitude from some of the staff made the start of our stay very stressful and frustrating. This experience needs to be addressed so future guests don’t go through the same.

Overall our trip was good! Started off rocky because our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 5 pm, but we went to get groceries and when we got back the room was ready. We were in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite in the Mariner building and it was a nice, clean room. The beds could've been softer but that's just personal preference. Our main complaint about the Mariner building is that the elevators take forever. We also had to go out to buy a frying pan after being told that the room had one. The property itself is nice, we love all of the water attractions. Our only complaint there is that the pools/lazy rivers could be updated or better maintained, one of the underwater lights fell out in the indoor-outdoor lazy river while we were in it.
