Could have been better

Arrived to find rooms could be updated, blow dryer in room broken, heated pools were not heated(apparently heater broke), unable to receive enough towels for the stay, trash must only be picked up occasionally, the area near elevator had trash and used towels piled up for two days, balcony door could not be secured, one of the elevators broke fixed 2 days into the stay, tub faucet was not secure, found hair on the plates in the kitchenette bed was hard and did not have appropriate bed springs(queen bed springs with a king mattress)

The indoor pools and hot tubs were closed. Advertised free continental breakfast and nothing. Hot water in shower didnt work. Front desk said they couldn't do anything for us not even a discount. Didnt offer to move us to another room till the last night. No phones in room. Refused to give a phone number to contact them. This is a high rise hotel 11 floors . If there had been an emergency it would take hours to tell people. Hallways dark. Tvs dont work. Awful

On the positive. Guy at front desk was very informative and clear to everything I needed. On the negative, holy crap the building is outdated and questionably safe and sound. Peeling paint and wall plaster. Stained carpets and furnishings, tables and chairs. Bathroom looked upgraded amd so did fridge and appliances. Outlets were cumbersome to find and one I needed wouldn't hold a standard phone charger well. Overall I would love to see the place updated and I would return again.

Pools did not work, hot tub was loosing water, NO free breakfast available. No hot water in my friends room tv and telephone didn’t work in our room. Bar man was lots of fun but everywhere else in the hotel was crap. I think they only had 8 people working the whole hotel. Didn’t get clean towels when requested. Start cats everywhere and spraying everything. All you smell outside is cat piss. This hotel needs to be shut down.

Progress but should rent a room when not completed

Paid for a double bed and got a single. The room was still under construction. In the closets were paint cans and materials. On a positive note, they are remodeling the rooms and the progress looks nice. If we had got the double beds and the remodeling was complete, I would have recommended this hotel.

The property was in disrepair. Staff was nice, but scarce. Restaurant and bar weren't open half the time and the pool was closed. No quarters for laundry. No plates or utensils in the kitchen. The view is beautiful and the one gentleman at the desk was super nice.

We were given a room, went inside and it was filthy. It had not been clean from the previous renter. Linens had not been changed, dirty qtips on bed and floor, trash had not been emptied, table was filthy with crumbs. Staff did reassign us to a different room, this time to a suite. The issue I had with this was that both beds were not in the room with the view of the ocean but at least the room was clean. The outdoor pool was not heated. The indoor pool was out of service. The kids pool was out of service and for most of th time the indoor hot tub was out of service. There was only 1 outdoor hot tub working out of the two and the hot water was only partially hot. I have been coming to this hotel for 13 years and have never experienced such poor service and amenities. What has happened to quality of service that Sandcastle use to pride themselves on that kept your clientele coming back year after year? The rates have steadily increased and the quality has steadily decreased. Please make it make sense.
