Great location. You have to remember that this is an older hotel. If you’re looking for something new with less charm, this is not the place. I prefer hotels with history and charm. Location is unbeatable.

The staff was excellent! Without request, the staff sent my parents a bottle of chilled champagne to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Also without request, our room was upgraded to a suite with a full living room and 2nd bathroom. The Omni Royal was the official hotel of the French Quarter Festival, and this attention to detail was provided during the very busy festival weekend. The valet parking and parking lot access are also very convenient. Area of improvement: the room furnishings need to be reupholstered or replaced. The rooms have a historic/antique furnishing vibe, but even by the often well-worn standards of NOLA hotels, the furnishings need attention. The bed and linens were nice, and the shower had awesome water pressure. The location of the hotel is the best in the Quarter and safer/quieter than Bourbon St. Brunch at Brennan’s across the street is a must for first-timers. Order the bananas foster (a Brennan’s classic). Thanks for the great stay!
