The tall glass windows in the lobby was relaxing to have afternoon tea while waiting for my room. The staff were very attentive, especially the concierge who saw me struggling with my luggage at my parked vehicle. He ran out with an umbrella to help me in the pouring rain. First things first: the location is THE ONLY problem with this property. The facilities, cleanliness, service, dining, etc. etc. are all top notch. Frankly, I didn’t expect such a great hotel with SUPER sophisticated service in the middle of nowhere in Hokkaido. The staff are attentive, kind and polite, and there is literally nothing to complain about. While the bldg isn’t new by any means, it has been meticulously maintained. With this said, unfortunately, the location is going to be an issue if you aren’t either driving or comfortable taking taxis to go anywhere. It is not within walking distance of the transportation hubs, and the Aeon shopping mall 5 minutes away is the only commercial establishment in the area. So, you are pretty much stuck at the hotel unless you drive/take taxis. Although it is truly an amazing hotel, thus, the location can be a major drawback. As long as you are okay with its location, there won’t be a better hotel.
