The property is nice, but there are mosquitoes in the room and we were all bitten and have red spots next morning. The beach is nice but too rough and you cannot swim. I am glad we only stayed one night otherwise I will be so upset not to be able to swim in the ocean since I am not a pool person

The Esmeralda Resort/Spa is an ideal place for those that like a quiet, detached, peaceful, and less crowded type setting. Its situated behind a beach bar at the north end of the bay. Cabins of 4 units share their own pool, thus making it quite cozy and private to lounge in your "own pool". The restaurant is fantastic for the quality of the food and its staff. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and as a single traveler, they engaged in conversation but not too much so seem invasive. Do not mistake the restaurant for being low cost--it was not. It can be on the pricy end to dine there, yet well worth it. The included continental brunch, was sort of blah, as there is nothing but carbs, and more carbs to eat. A small bowl of fruit is provided, along with 2 types of cereal, teas and coffee. If eggs or meats or anything else beyond bread (too much bread) is desired, then there is a menue available for those items at a cost. I highly recommend Esmeralda and would gladly stay again.

Upsides...Staff is outstanding. Proximity to the beach is excellent. Parking a positive. Downsides...a bit dated particularly with modern electrical outlets ie no HDMI outlets. Had 2 different units with #1 only one available outlet, Much better with 2nd unit. Also, quite pricey. Would I stay again? Probably.

We spent 5 nights in a Deluxe room in Feb 2025 and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room! The bed was comfortable and we loved having the balcony to relax on. All of the staff were wonderful and so helpful. Very short walk to the beach and we appreciated that we had access to chairs at 4 beach clubs (KKO was our favourite). Short walk to Orient Village made dinners really easy. Great stay!

The special dinners on resort seem pricey but they were incredible. Breakfast we ate mostly at resort was delicious. Rooms are a little dated but nice. Staff on resort were very helpful. Had a couple power outages they were short it was whole area. Had trash pickup from resort next to us woke us up some night. Few minute walk to beach if you want clothing optional end about 30min walk. Really enjoyed my stay here was very quiet and relaxing.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are spacious (with a front door and a back door leading to a small terrace). The kitchenette in our room consisted of a microwave, sink, coffeemaker and small fridge. The pool was incredibly clean and there was a small area with a hose to rinse off (located near the gate to exit the pool area). It is a short walk from the property to the beach and towels were always available from the front desk staff. The cleaning staff did an excellent job daily and front desk staff were always helpful and friendly. The Astrolabe restaurant had a lovely atmosphere for dinner and the food was quite tasty. The free breakfast in the mornings included: bread with a selection of various spreads available, chocolatines, croissants, juice, tea, coffee, fresh fruit and some cereal options. The staff always provided a menu to order other items for breakfast for an extra fee (e.g. scrambled eggs and bacon). It was overall comfortable and a pleasure to stay at the Esmeralda Resort.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Esmerelda! The spacious villas are private and secure, with a gated entrance and a private walkway to the beach. It’s also just a short walk to Orient Beach Village, so we felt safe letting our young daughters explore on their own. The resort’s restaurant is fantastic—make sure to book in advance for the Friday lobster special. Breakfast is complimentary, with fresh fruit and French breads, offering a taste of the authentic French West Indies. If you're looking for an American-style buffet, this isn’t it, but the offerings are perfect for a relaxed start to the day. Overall, this resort combines comfort, privacy, and convenience for a wonderful St. Martin experience. Highly recommend!
