This stay was better than expected for the price point. It had its flaws, like you could see where the door had previously been kicked in and repaired with about 1cm of daylight shining through the frame when closed although it did feel secure. The hotel was quiet and peacfull, pool area was also in decent shape despite being off season, even the cockroaches seemed to be on holiday and were laying upside down in the sun. Breakfast was low key as in there was toast, coffee and toast but don't try and get a coffee before the reception staff pull the robe back. Overall a comfortable stay though

Overall this was an above average place. Just a few minor complaints is all. 1.) The breakfast was "carby" & non-protein, but decent selections considering the rate. Problem was the area for it was rather small: some folks even had to go outside despite a chilly morning due to a strong cold front. 2.) Had phone problems reaching the front desk. Even had to dial out & that still didn't work! But on the 2nd day it was better. (???) It's easy to tell that their property underwent a renovation not long ago, and it shows. Kudos to the nice gentleman that literally walked up & knocked on my door at 8 a.m. when I requested a wake-up call due to the phone problems! And this, despite an alarm clock in the room! He was very thoughtful. F.Y.I. Ladies & Gentleman: There is an old school Waffle House immediately next door on one side, and a Lone Star Steakhouse immediately next door on the other side. Great dining. Straight across the main thoroufare is a Pizzeria Uno, as well as a Chilis!
