This hotel is very close to UPenn hospital, where I needed a procedure. The street seemed quiet at night, interesting restaurants were close by, and excellent coffee shops were scattered around the neighborhood. The staff at the reception desk exuded a welcoming attitude and went out of their way to help. The day we arrived was hot, so they had all the blinds pulled in the reception area and the lounge. This made it seem dark and dreary. The happy hour was underwhelming, with scant offerings of snacks.The continental breakfast was also disappointing. Perhaps the presentation could have been better. With the blinds pulled, we couldn’t see what was there.

The Philly Special is not continental breakfast

Everything about my vacation was elite except for the breakfast. Dry old bagels, old cereal no one eats, a small plate of fruit and awful coffee. I have no idea how a business charges what they do and offers such poor food options in the morning.

Comfy, Cozy, and Classic in a Convenient Location

The rooms were small but perfect for our stay. We had a big bay window area with a city view. The room was clean and had all expected amenities. The breakfast was a small typical continental breakfast. Breads, bagels, fruit, juice, etc. The service was excellent and the whole hotel had a quaint feel and even though it was obviously very old it had every modern update where needed. The elevator was an interesting and cozy experience. One warning. The corners of the bed stuck out and depending on your height you can bang your knee or shin on it. We put the trash can under the one corner after the lesson was learned the hard way. The location was convenent to public transit (to get to the NRG sports area). There were a lot of restaurant and diverse bar options in easy walking distance. Reading Terminal Market and Angelo's Pizzeria (get ready to wait for cheesesteaks) were also a few blocks away.

in die Jahre gekommen - aber sauber und gute Lage

Der erste Eindruck ist gut, die Lage und die Erreichbarkeit der Innenstadt super. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, ein Problem mit unserem Zimmer wurde umgehend gelöst ( Danke Terrence ) . Das Frühstück ist einfach und okay, es gibt Bagels, Eier, Joghurt und Obstsalat. Der Kaffee ist gut und tagsüber kann man sich einen an einer Keurig Maschine kochen. Der soziale Nachmittag ist eine nette Zugabe mit 2 Getränken und Obst , Oliven und Käse - uns hat es gefallen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Wir kommen gerne wieder ! Ja es ist etwas lauter, aber man ist nahe der Stadt und in einem belebten Viertel.

I've stayed at the Hotel Alexander before. Love the location and the rooms. Nice people at the desk as well. They have a free Continental breakfast in the morning, and 2 free tickets for a drink (wine or beer) for a Social hour from 5-7pm. A few appetizers are also on the table. My only concern, was the noise late into the wee hours I heard on the street. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. Also, a very convenient location to stores for shopping!
