Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and not overcrowded. Rooms are large with very high ceilings and the art deco architecture is beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in downtown Pittsburgh.

The photos on the website look nothing like the actual hotel. The lobby and breakfast area appeared bright and modern in the pictures, but in reality everything is dark and outdated. The same goes for the room — very dim. That said, the room and bathroom were spotless. The mattress was quite soft and saggy; they really need to replace it, as well as the pillows. Even though everything was clean, the gloomy atmosphere of the hotel didn’t help at all. The front desk staff, however, were very kind and helpful.
