The from desk ladies, Allison from room service, the one lady from the coffee shop, the last at the spa on Friday and the guys from the bar were amazing. However, everyone else was not pleasant, at all. First night, it was a corporate/“leader” party. So, I asked the first visible workers what was going on and they claimed they didn’t know; I was able to stay though, but no one even bother to see who I was and if I was even allowed there. It was semi-fun for the most part, because the music was good; but no one was welcoming, especially as “leaders”. You say good morning/night, complete silence; just stares. The ice machine on my floor wasn’t working, so I went to another floor to get ice and seen one of the managers on the elevator. I explained to him that the ice machine wasn’t working and he let the elevator close in my face. I’m at the pool and was totally over looked. My floor a was had a very weird/funny smell and there was absolutely no ventilation in there; I came back home with sinus congestion. I wanted spa treatment, but it was “booked for the day”, even though the lady the day before was willing to assist me and it was completely empty. Overall, my whole experience was horrible; a complete waste of money; NEVER again!

The rooms were fine. What I did not like is how the hotel kept assigning us taxi drivers that were clearly over charged us for every ride. Once taxi driver charged us triple the ttd’s amount for a 45 minute ride. They Hotel host told us that they were not able to call an outside taxi service and advised us that we had to use their taxi’s at the hotel. Also, when I went to the hotels cafe area for their buffet breakfast they over charged me the amount that the front said that I would have to pay. I don’t have a problem with paying what I owe, but don’t try to get over on me, just because I’m from a different country.

Let me start by saying I stayed at The Brix hotel approximately 2 weeks before I gave Hyatt a try and I thought I would get the same experience or better plus the view of the water which is something I truly love. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I should’ve lowered my expectations. I must say the food at Hyatt was amazing, I throughly enjoyed it, but I wish I could say the same for the rest. I had to check out early due to all the noise that resides and is promoted within this hotel. From the renovations which may be warranted since the room I was given had an aged and underlying frowsy odor to it; to the children running back and forth which I could hear above my head from the upper room—which I called to complain about and front desk said they would send security to handle it and they did, thankfully; to the parties every night I was there from Thursday and drums early Saturday morning which was my last straw. I love a tassa drum but not to wake me up in the morning. Though the pool area was lovely with the infinity edge-like pool overlooking the ocean, the couch by the kids area looked worn, and the harbor activities at both ends of the hotel taints the experience. This is a party hotel not one for peace and relaxation. For the perception the name carries, I expected more but it left me feeling like I paid for a low class experience with a high price tag. Perception was not reality and the consideration was lacking. The Brix will be my choice moving forward.

The room was spotless,the staff was courteous but the house keepers are very annoying.When i travel from the great,busy,New York city and visit trinidad,my sweet home country i want to relax and get up late.The sign is on the door and these house keepers still keep knocking and calling on the phone asking if you need room service.I reported it and it still keep happening.Omg that was very disappointing but other than that my stay was beautifully and wonderfully spent.
