A quick stay that is just an ok.

It is a chic hotel in a great location, looks new and with a modern ambiance. However, some of the details are disappointing. For example, the bathroom has rusty spots, and our bathtub has hair left when we checked in. The A/C is loud.

All very good. Accept the breakfast.

A very nice downtown hotel, with more reasonable parking. Food is not great, especially the morning buffet. That’s very rough, with 1 bedraggled attendant for everyone. Didnt even bother with the diner style evening food, since there are tons of great restaurants in easy walking distance.

Absolutely our new favorite place to stay. The staff is top notch. We even received a small pet packet with a toy, treat, poop bags, and stuffed animal. We loved the vibe of the hotel, it was clear all are welcome and safe. The only very small suggestion would be to improve the breakfast. But this was minor considering everything other wonderful part.

I had an amazing 3 nights and total of 4 days and I love the Zags hotel. The location is perfect right in the center of Portland where everything is walkable or you can take the train. The staff, lobby and outdoor common area is very nice. Dining area is wide with nice booths and bar. The complimentary breakfast was basic (boiled eggs, toasts, pastries, coffee, yogurt, granola & snacks) but good enough to tight you over. They also have video games and pinball which is cool. The room was spacious with great amenities, nice king bad and great bathroom. They also have a collaboration with 24 fitness across the street which is great. Don’t forget to ask the front desk for the free voucher to the gym. Overall I loved it. Highly recommended.

Take note of the following if you stay there: - $30 per night on top of the price for "amenities". When asked what this is about, they struggle to explain and say it's non-negotiable. Blaming Expedia that they don't show it... If you are the manager reading this: add $30 to all your rooms prices if that's mandatory and non negotiable... - parking is being charges $40 per night... - fridge is very noisy and when turned off, it leaked badly... The fridge was not well cleaned and ice accumulated inside (a fridge should not have ice, freezer yes). - requested for the room to be cleaned (via in-room button), nobody came while I was visiting the city. - Aircon is noisy - No bedside control for the lights (each light has a switch at the light itself) - Some guests were singing at midnight in the patio, none of the staff said anything On the positive: - well located - "free" games (pinball, retro arcade, etc..) - comfortable bed - good wifi

I once lived in Portland and now return on a regular basis to visit family. The Hotel Zags is a good fit for us and conveniently located. Yo can walk to Powell's in 20 minutes or less and there are plenty of interesting shops along the way.
