Mala Hale is comfortably furnished with vaulted ceilings and cozy furnishings. Its welcoming, open concept and wide windows with picturesque garden views make it an ideal space to gather with friends and family.

The kitchen opens up to the dining area for six, with a spacious living area just beyond.

Furnished with stainless steel appliances and bar seating, the kitchen is a great space to cook a tasty dinner and hang out with friends. Enjoy dinner and cocktails from the screened lanai while viewing the lush and well-maintained yard.

Mala Hale features three bedrooms (two kings and one queen) each with expansive windows, ceiling fans, and flatscreen TVs. The primary features lanai access and an en suite bathroom, while the two guest rooms share a beautifully appointed second bathroom.
Free Wifi, high-speed internet, and a washer and dryer provide you with additional comfort and convenience during your stay.

The primary bedroom includes a ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, AC, and a private courtyard with a hot tub.
The second bedroom with a king bed features a ceiling fan, AC, and TV.
The third bedroom offers a ceiling fan, AC, and backyard access through sliding glass doors.

A scenic two-mile jogging path allows easy access to golf at the Princeville Makai Golf Course and restaurants, grocery, and gas a station at the Princeville Shopping Center.

The quaint towns of Hanalei and Kilauea are a short drive away. Both towns offer lots of shopping and dining options. Kayak along the Hanalei River, surf Hanalei Bay or tour Kilauea Lighthouse. No matter what you like to do for fun, there's something for everyone.

Mala Hale is a spacious private home located in Princeville, Kauai and an ideal place to spend your next Hawaiian vacation.

Please note, stays of 12+ nights require a mandatory mid-stay cleaning. For stays over 21 nights, two mid-stay cleanings are necessary. Any applicable mid-stay cleaning fees will be additional to the departure cleaning fee. Please contact management for more information if needed.

Note About Seasonal Gnats

We want to ensure guests are aware that during the winter months in Hawaii, gnats are naturally more prevalent due to the tropical climate. These tiny insects are attracted to light and are especially common in lush, green areas like ours. While we take every measure to maintain the property, their presence is a natural part of the environment and beyond our control.

To minimize their impact during your stay:

Keep doors and windows closed as much as possible.
Ensure screens are securely in place. Please note, however, that some gnats are so small they may get through even the finest mesh screens.

Beautiful and clean, a tropical paradise!

The backyard was so beautiful, we grounded and stretched out there every morning! The furniture was nice and comfortable, the beds were comfortable, and we loved the indoor/outdoor aspect of the lanai and primary bedroom/bathroom. We would 100 stay here again, and plan to very soon!

My husband, teenage son, and I all loved this house. It was the perfect home base for our Kauai trip. Everything we needed was stocked including goggles, towels, a cooler etc. We loved riding the bikes through the beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. The garden is just as beautiful as the photos. 10/10

A wonderful stay we’ll be returning for!!

Mala Hale was absolutely perfect!! Yen was super easy to communicate with and really friendly. We felt really at home, with everything being sparkling clean, working, and simply beautiful. The AC units worked great and kept us cool while we slept. The jacuzzi was hot and clean. We loved reading and doing puzzles in the screened in lanai with our morning coffee. Usually we stay with friends or family while we’re on island but we brought people this time so we needed a place and it was honestly so lovely that we’ll probably book again even if it’s just two of us! Super grateful for the whole experience.

An oasis within an oasis

Traveling with my wife, my parents, and my two pre-teen kids (7 and 12), we felt immediately at home when we dropped our bags on our way in from the airport. The house was a 40 minute drive from the airport through easy traffic with plenty of scenery. The house is nestled within a street of pretty but non-descript homes, opens up into a spacious and airy interior, accessing a beautiful and secluded back garden. The family areas include a large room which includes a tv lounge area, large kitchen with barstool area, formal dining room, and screen porch (lanai). The garage is well lit and surprisingly clean, and we found plenty of beach gear, washer and dryer, and even several bicycles ready to ride around the slow-paced and comfortable neighborhood. The bedrooms were lovely, though there is definitely a master bedroom (huge space, complete with a large closet, sitting area, private bathroom with a large vanity, and a glassed-in outdoor area with a hot tub) and two normal bedrooms (small closets, shared bathroom). Throughout our 7 days in Kauai, this home was a perfect base for us, with a space for everyone to do their own thing - napping, reading, drawing, cooking - or to join together for a meal or a game. We didn't use the TVs almost at all, though when we did, we noticed they had netflix setup already. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a few spices, and a variety of devices in a closet off of the dining room (toasters, griddles, blenders, etc), and the well stocked nearby grocery store is only a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the house. We didn't cook every meal here, but we make a few breakfasts, used the outdoor bbq to make seared ahi steaks one night and chicken another night, and prepped beach picnics most days. From this location, we weren't an easy walk to a beach (that we could find anyway), but were certainly an easy drive to several, including just a 10 minute drive down into Hanalei. We recommend going to the nearby lighthouse, which was a highlight for all of us, along with the mini-golf near the lighthouse. Speaking of golf, I was worried about seeing the big golf courses all around the house, but you would almost never know they were even there unless you go looking for them - the greens are so separated from the neighborhoods. Instead, the lush back garden with high planted walls, pathways, and statuary makes you feel like you're totally secluded without anyone nearby. Loved this place and will be back

Wonderfully maintained home centrally located to major North Shore spots. Lanai looking out to garden is the perfect place to enjoy coffee and drinks. Also, go sit out in the garden with the one you love with a perfect view of Na'Pali waterfalls. All amenities provided for guests to adventure outdoors. Worth every penny.

Lush, serene and comfortable

Nice neighborhood and beautiful tropical backyard. Spent most of our time on the screened-in lanai. Spacious for a family of four. Well-supplied kitchen. Open air feel. Very close to the Princeville Center, which has a grocery store, shops and a few restaurants. Close proximity (5-7 minute drive) to Hideaways, Secret Beach, Queen's Bath, Anini Beach and Hanalei. No A/C, which is common in Kauai, but when we stayed in mid-late June, it was fairly uncomfortable, even with the ceiling and floor fans going. Property would benefit from labeled light switches and fan controls, as well as ottomans/footstools for the outdoor lanai. Overall, a great place to stay.

Beautiful House!

My husband and I stayed here during our wedding and honeymoon in Kauai! This was the perfect house to hang out with family, since it was a nice open floor plan and nicely updated! The master bedroom was amazing and the indoor/outdoor shower that connects to the hot tub was our favorite part. The backyard of the house is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous landscaping.! Highly recommend staying at this property ! Also, the property manager Yen, was so helpful and accommodating to our needs, we needed to extend our trip by a couple of days and she made it so easy! Loved this place and will definitely be coming back here again!
