There are many pros and cons regarding this resort, main con the lack of staff that could speak English which was difficult. Use Google Translate whenever possible. Pros: Beaches and pools are beautiful Resort was always clean Casino surprisingly paid out well Drinks were tasty The couple’s massage was amazing, and you get a bottle of champagne & private pool access for 30 mins after The pool party was SO fun! Staff was very engaging and enthusiastic Food was good at the sports bar, service was just ok We enjoyed the Japanese hibachi restaurant but he seemed very rushed Cons: Costs $10 to get a taxi just to go to the main hotel entrance (we booked an excursion and they were not able to drive in which would have been nice to know). Walking isn’t an option due to distance No poolside service so you need to get up to get beverages. And no eating at the pool area so you need to get “dressed” to go to one of the buffets. Girls cannot eat in the buffets without pants (even if they have a t-shirt and shoes on) Bowling, escape room and other activities cost additional money (but they were nice additions) When we asked for room cleaning service (they came at like 9am and we were still in bed), I had to ask multiple people & it didn’t get done (see language barrier!) You need to reserve chairs in peak season (both the beach & pools) which isn’t too uncommon but should be noted Overall, we felt like it had a lot to offer, minus the language barrier.

Beautiful resort, lots of amenities/activities, clean grounds, good food in adult only section, friendly staff. Cons: Main buffet needs to have cleaner floors - super greasy where we almost fell. Some rude staff in spa and a gift shop.

Had a complimentary upgrade to Premium. I will never pay for this service at Barcelo Bavaro. I had to beg for ala carte dinner reservations and never saw our butler after the first day. Love the resort, just very disappointed in the upgrade.

The breakfast, lunch and dinner were amazing. As a premium level member you can go to breakfast and lunch to Coral or Italian restaurant. Italian restaurant serves a la carte breakfast and lunch.This luxury property is very well kept with clean pools and ocean next to the pool.The only thing I did not like is the old and small bathrooms in the beach area. But there are plenty of options where else to go. Property is huge, beach is long. They clean it every morning. I liked water attractions: kayaking, catamaran, banana. Turns out there are 2 dolphinariums in the ocean around 600 feet from the shore🙂

For starters, the staff at this resort are rude. Unless you speak Spanish or are of European descent, they are rude. Do not answer questions and brush you off. Second, the food is disgusting. The buffet style food is nasty. There is no real variety and it got my family sick, literally throwing up for days. Had to skip it for food at the sports bar which is also buffet style, but tastes alittle better. The Barcy water park for children is nice, that's why I gave 2 stars. The room is decent, but the lights blacked out a few times for a couple minutes and we could not get them back on. Also, first day there was no wash cloths. Had to call multiple times to get them, and they came the next day. Wouldn't recommend or be returning here

We Loved everything about Bavaro Place except check in process was slow…. Food was not good but its mass production in an all inclusive so to be expected . Never any available chairs at beach . People seem to put their towels early on beach chairs and think they can leave for hours and come back to ‘their chairs ‘ while the rest of us have no chairs . Everything else was great and would definitely go back

The resort itself was beautiful and amazing. It is well kept and easy to get al around. There is lots to do and the food choices are great. The drink choices were plenty and strong! The one thing I found was that the service was less than other resorts we’ve been to. Servers seemed bothered that we were there, the omelette makers at breakfast were very slow and so unhappy. Even tipping didn’t really help to speed up the service.

Our five-night stay at Barceló Bávaro Palace was nothing short of exceptional. The room was immaculate, with beautifully maintained interiors, generous plush towels, and a complimentary minibar that was restocked regularly. Room service was seamless and highly organized, reflecting the resort’s attention to detail. The property itself is grand, elegant, and meticulously maintained, with staff always present and ready to assist. The private beach and breathtaking ocean views complete the experience—you truly never need to leave the resort. One of the most luxurious and memorable stays we’ve had.

Hello, My experience was very disappointing to be perfectly honest. And I expect a refund to my original payment method. Please see list of my issues and why I deserve a refund at a minimum a 30% refund of my total booking and I’ll be reporting this to Expedia and corporate headquarters as well. Day 1 Barceló Bávaro Palace I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Barceló Bávaro Palace. While the resort initially appeared beautiful, with impressive grounds and amenities, the quality of service and overall guest experience quickly declined. Our first major issue occurred at the Coral Seafood Restaurant. The food was poorly prepared and badly portioned. The clam chowder resembled a watery clam sauce poured over gravy rather than an actual chowder with no actual clam pieces or potatoes as a true chowder is made. The mozzarella sticks were cold and hard and visibly old. Definitely not fresh as one would expect. The French fries were inconsistently cooked and two completely different colors on the same plate. During dinner, a server spilled a cup of water on my daughter. Instead of offering a sincere apology or even attempting to assist in cleaning it up, she wasn’t even as much as offered a napkin. Instead, the staff appeared to find the situation amusing. The waiter literally laughed in her face and for the remainder of the evening, servers stared, laughed, and made us feel uncomfortable, as if we were deliberately being given poor service.
