We just got back from a 8 night stay at the Royalton. I wasn’t impressed unfortunately. We traveled with a group of 4 families and had asked them months ago if we could all be in rooms that are next to each other or at least close. When we arrived we all were put in totally different buildings which made meeting up a lot more difficult. My husband, daughter and I got our room number and went to the room and it immediately smelled strongly of mold. I went to the front desk and asked for a room swap and they didnt do anything about it until the following evening. Luckily we had family staying at the resort that we could stay with

The hotel was beautiful, the lazy river is definitely a plus, all the workers are extremely friendly and the rooms are amazing. The only downside is that restaurants reservations are very hard to get and then you will wait a long time for your food to arrive. Overall it was a great experience!

The property looked great from the pictures. After staying the previous few nights at the Royalton Splash Resort, we decided to give the Royalton Bavarro a try. Everything from check in to leaving did not go well. We checked in around 1pm and they told us our room was not ready so come back at 3 pm. We came back at 3 pm and we were told the room was still not ready. Our room finally became available after 3:30 pm. We made it into room and made our way to the beach where it was basically filled up seaweed on the beach and in the water. Just to make it short, we had a iron/steamer that did not work and took over 3 hours to get a functioning one, there were no extra sheets or pillows for the the sofa beds in both the living room and bedroom, and the staff was significantly way better at the Royalton Splash. Kind of difficult to see such a big difference since I think they are run by the same group. Wit would be very difficult for me to select this resort on my next stay.

My family and I stayed at Royalton Bávaro for 8 nights. We have travelled extensively to all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean so we are experienced travellers. Pros: - lazy river - pools - beach - casino - entertainment Cons: - service is slow at restaurants - food is average quality and often kept at room temperature (safety issue) - porter service slow A few additional comments: We decided to upgrade to Diamond Club which I highly recommend. Our concierge Adoni was awesome - he worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable especially after a bumpy start, including providing us a VIP room at Hunter restaurant and a cabana at the Diamond Club pool. If management focuses on improving the food and restaurant service, this resort could be great.

Very poorly treated. Didnt enjoy the food at all. We were scared most of the time because food was sitting in the heat for a ling time. Took forever to get drinks, even at the buffeets and dinner restaurants. Beaches were always full of seaweed. Would not recommend this place at all. Nor will i return.

The property was beautiful however the food service was extremely slow. Food was good just takes forever to get drinks at the buffet and the restaurants take forever to give you your food. Michael was our butler and he truly was great in the Diamond Club. Always available and knew what he was doing. We got married on the property and loved it truly. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Overall this resort was nice. Very long (you do walk alot). The beach was horrible with all the seaweed. You need reservations for all the restaurants except buffet. It really was annoying. Some areas was short staffed. Adoni, our guest concierge was AMAZING, SO NICE, SO HELPFUL, SO INFORMATIVE. He helped us tremendously!!! Rooms were big! Needs some TLC. This was a good resort but I would not come back again.

I am requesting support from Expedia to initiate a refund as I did not stay at the Royalton as I checked out!

Our check in experience was horrendous! Waited 40 minutes to check in and there was only 3 parties ahead of us. We were told to come back at 3pm(fair enough). We went back at 3pm and told to come back at 4:10. Went back and told our room was ready. Went to the room opened to door to a king room with a crib…we were confirmed by the front desk it was 2 doubles and a pull out (we are 3 adults). Went back to the desk and was told there was nothing else available. Not acceptable so we asked for the Manger, he tinkered on the computer for another 30 minutes with not help. Then I messaged Adoni at concierge who came out and found us a room and went to check it was the correct room. We finally got into our room around 6pm. What was our room like? Run down- bathroom door didn’t close. Bed runner stained and ripped, floor dirty. We had to call for towels and robes- which came with gross blood type stains.Food and service-The sports bar we waited 45 minutes to be served and it wasn’t busy. The buffet-staff look like they don’t want to be there, the food is luke warm at best. The a la carts- are the same. We went to the steakhouse and seafood restaurants. Concierge at the blocks are just sales vultures - prestige club club.We were told they’d join us for breakfast, but when we went we were told there was a 90 min tour. We said weren't interested, the Manager told us to ‘get out’.The grounds & pools are nice. We are frequent travellers. I was told if I plan to leave a bad review-don’t.

The property was absolutely beautiful. There was many activities to do. We really enjoyed the lazy river and spending time at the cabanas. There is endless food and drink options. We had an amazing conceirge. Adoni and Jean we're amazing! They ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. They took care of our reservations to the restaurant and helped us set up our excursion to Monkey Santuary. It was a great trip for our 3 and 1 year old girls and we look forward to visiting again.
