We really liked the location which was directly across the street from Termini Station. Our room and bed were quite large and the hotel was really convenient. One issue was they ask you to return the room key when leaving the hotel because it’s an actual key and when we asked for our key when we came back to the hotel we were given a key for the wrong room. The front desk person blamed this on mishearing the room number which could obviously be an issue in a foreign hotel. He wasn’t particularly concerned or pleasant about it as he made it out that it was my mistake but the hotel gets an absolute zero for security. This wasn’t a big issue for us because we were only staying overnight for a morning flight but if someone was planning to stay a few days I don’t think it would be ok. The hotel really needs to invest in keyless doors. Having a physical key is basically unheard of in 2025.

Hotel is an amazing location, especially for transport links being right next to Termini. Hotel room itself was always clean, tended to daily. Only downside is that the cleaning team were trying to get in about 9 to clean the room when we had our room marked as “do not disturb”. They then attempted to come in a second time. But generally everyone we came into contact with was polite and helpful.

We stayed at the Hotel Madison in Rome for one night in May 2025. We selected this hotel primarily for its location, as it is right across the street from the Rome Termini train station. Our experience was average, as the hotel is somewhat older with tiny rooms - we constantly were tripping over our suitcases. However, the location is good particularly if you need to use the train system to get around Italy (we were going to Milan the next day). We were told check in time would be 2PM but the room wasn't actually available until 3PM. They do provide luggage storage for you, but security for the luggage was lax and we were glad to have had locks on our luggage. It is right downtown with a lot of amenities in walking distance. This hotel met our needs for a one-night stopover between trains.

The room had a terrible smell ,as a sewage tank, which made my stay extremely uncomfortable. I reported the issue to the hotel staff, but the only solution offered was to pay for an upgrade to change rooms. A refund for the original room was also not accepted. This situation significantly affected my trip, as I was unable to sleep properly for four nights.
