Bare bones but I’d visit again

I had difficulty getting on WiFi but finally managed it. Someone is always available by phone even though there is no desk. The parking is not gated nor does it have cameras so I felt parking was expensive for no security. It was a convenient hotel for me.

Huge fan of Abpopa Hillcrest hotel! Great walkable location, unique rooms filled with unique art, easy check-in, nice cafe downstairs, so much too love. I hate cookie cutter hotel chains so Abpopa is definitely my cup of tea!

Have stayed here multiple times and I love it. The larger rooms toward the top of the building have better views, but an open air bathroom situation. If you want more privacy for the bathroom, I would recommend getting a studio room.

Great hotel!! The owners upgraded me to their amazing penthouse suite, which was very generous. Btw, their penthouse suite is over 1,000 sf of space with stunning 360-degree views of the entire city, kitchen, large seating area, etc. So I will always stay at the amazing Abpopa Hillcrest when I am in San Diego!!

Not sure what I was thinking with this one. The space was compact and clean. The beds are in a loft with about 3 feet high of space. The bed was comfortable, however. The space looks like it was cheaply built by IKEA. I was a bit disappointed in the quality. It also showed some age. There’s no sofa, just a row of 4 chairs to sit in, and you can’t really relax in the bed because of height constraints and the hike up the ladder. I should have booked a different space in the unit. Maybe that would have swayed me a bit more to the positive.

We travel to San Diego for work several times a year. This was a new hotel for us to try. We loved it. A very cool, modern and hip vibe. A beautiful room. And a wonderful restaurant downstairs was great as well.

It was a GREAT property, and it was in the heart of Hillcrest, which I love. And, once you walked a block or two from the hotel, it was fine. Just a bit shady around the block the hotel was on. But, I'm from NYC, so didn't bother me too much. Might be off putting to others. Rick

Bathrooms are not private so if you’re traveling with a group, maybe don’t share the room. Nice spot for 2, but it’s very noisy. Bring ear plugs.
