We enjoyed our stay at The Dana. The location was great for walking to Seaworld or Mission Beach (Belmont Park). We didnt have a car but the buses stopping outside the hotel were fine and uber/lyft more convenient to us versus hiring and paying on-site parking. The hotel itself was clean, swimming pools heated and the film nights kids enjoyed. The firefly on site is convenient and had enough options for evening meals, didnt try breakfast so cannot advise. Only downsides to share were our first room was somewhat smelly and we were given an alternative immediately when asked (assume it was previously used by someone with a dog as its pet friendly hotel) and we vacated during spring break and there were lots of older kids / young adults partying in the pool / by the hotel rooms on a couple of evenings which wasnt ideal for a family. Even with this would stay again as location was great for us versus downtown or La Jolla for example and lyfts to most places were no more than $20-25. Hope to visit again some time.

This property is in a nice location and has great ambiance lighting and landscaping all aroun, which makes it beautiful at night. However, rooms need maintenance. We had two rooms, one smelled of swage near the entrance where the vanity is. Bathroom door made a horrible squeek sound upon open and close. bathroom fan made a relatively loud noise and finally, the AC unit above one of the rooms leaked pouring more than a few drops. That was on top of our unit's patio door. so we had to squeez from one side not to get wet. And w.r.t. VIP access from Expedia, the free drinks vocher is worth maybe 15$ per room at most. I could exchange 3 for Lattes but on the last day I could only get a regular coffee with it! Is 5 min drive to SeaWorld. Overall, I'll use airbnb next time.

Carpet falling apart at entryway, temperature on the remote different from air conditioner. Behind garden area, lots of trash bordering property by public restroom. Did see homeless ppl but hotel felt safe overall. Friendly staff, family friendly hotel. Love the movie pool event, accessing pool towels was great! Would come back.
