Great walking distance to surrounding areas. Hotel bar/restaurant is very busy and crowded. Parking is difficult because it’s either $65/night for valet or $25/night in a nearby parking garage (around the corner). Rooms are very small but clean and modern. Definitely not family friendly due to noisy bar/restaurant, size of rooms and parking arrangements. The bed was the worst because of how hard it was. We won’t be staying here again.

The room was somewhat spartan with no drapes so if you need it dark when you sleep, don’t stay here. There is not enough insulation to avoid hearing goings on in the hallway or next room. The valet service was okay the first day but, after that, spotty and they seemed to be either short-handed or having communication issues with the valet so that it took quite a while to get my car brought up. The food was good but expensive but the staff was very nice.

The rooms are quite bare and sparse. The furnishings were of a low quality. Furniture, window, shades, bathroom, fixtures, etc. Come to breakfast was also bare bones. Kept clean, good location and staff is very helpful, pleasant and informed, but wouldn’t stay there again for the above reasons.

Fell short of expectations!

I was excited about the hotel initially however, it wasn’t as expected. The rooms were small and lighting was dim. The windows were tiny so very little light came in. The loft ceilings felt a little raw and the bathroom shower tiles were broken and chipped. I paid for a large king room but it wasn’t large at all. The decor of the hotel was nice but honestly fell short of expectations. Food was just okay. I had really hoped for more.

A little hidden jewel

This hotel is a definite gem! The location is prime: close to the water as well as easy walking to Gas Lamp district and train station. We were very impressed with the staff, especially Samantha at the reception desk. The continental is elevated compared to most as it is served to you and just right with yogurt, fruit and toast. Other items available for a reasonable cost. The room was small as advertised, but it was so comfy and cozy and had all the amenities that one could want. The court yard view is worth the extra $$...and the bathroom was one of the nicest we have ever had... it was huge for the space. We will definitely be coming back to stay at this little get away!

They have wonderfully renovated a 100 year old building which is located within walking distance of the ports, Little Italy, the Gaslamp District, the ballpark and public transportation to get to other attractions. The courtyard is great. This is a unique opportunity to go back in time. It was a great experience!

Wonderful boutique hotel near Little Italy

Wonderful boutique hotel near Little Italy & Convention Ctr. Staff were polite, friendly, & welcoming. The bldg itself was originally the downtown YMCA in SD. The Guild & Marriot have re-purposed it beautifully. Continental breakfast was substantive and a nice touch!
