We’ve been visiting and staying in the Ocean view King rooms for a few years. This year we unexpectedly booked during the Car show weekend (weekend offer Memorial Day.) I checked in on Saturday and we left on Tuesday. This hotel needs to have better control over their parking lot so they can provide reasonable parking for their paying guests. Several parking spots were occupied by large containers and large storage trailers; in another instance five spots were taken for one guest and his sideways car trailer. Further, some of the parking spaces are so tight that after I parked my standard F150 other cars parked on each side and I could not access my vehicle doors until the other cars moved. **DOOR DINGS** What’s worse, when we were leaving I found 7 long carpentry nails rolling around on my moonroof, and a couple in the bed of my truck—this is when I was parked in the row at the hotel level below the restaurant. On another note, the bed in our room was like concrete. I don’t know if they changed the mattresses or this one was just old, but it’s Wednesday and I’m still sore. The beds on the south side of the lobby have always been soft enough with good support. Overall, the service is good. The views and the location is excellent. The amenities are a bonus.

Overpriced for what you pay. You have to book cleaning service, which we had never encountered at a hotel that charged >$500 a night. Basic necessities are missing. Microwave did not work. They called us at 7 a.m. on a holiday for no legitimate reason. Vibes are motel-like, so the price point made little sense. Views are beautiful but that is not worth the cost (you can stay elsewhere for that view or simply drive from SLO for the view). I recommend avoiding.

Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Walking distances to the piers and restaurants nearby. Beach walk was very pleasant. We have an ocean view room on the second floor. For the price i paid, more than $600 per night. I expect more but none of the necessities such as bath robes, slippers, shower caps, q-tips etc. were provided.

It all rooms have a balcony

The room we booked offered a balcony or patio and we got the only room that did not have a balcony or patio. The reason why we booked that hotel and paid that much was for our kids to have some extra space. I asked why we got that room and they said it was because we booked through a third party which does not matter. I am paying for a room which said I would get a balcony or patio and I did not get it.
