Excellent location, disappointing accommodation

The hotel is conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and historic sites. The lobby is beautiful and well maintained. Staff were not attentive at check in and did not greet/welcome us. Our room did not meet expectations. The bathroom was dirty, especially the shower that had someone else’s hair on the walls and stains on the tile and glass door. The room window was very dirty, distracting from the view of the city. The flooring and furniture was very cheap and the chair was uncomfortable. The mattress, however, was very comfortable and we slept well. I would consider staying again due to the location and comfort of the bed, but hope management addresses the other issues.

Never Disappointed

My fiancé and I have stayed here three years in a row now and we have been very pleased with each of the days. The restaurant 1540 is also a must if you are staying at The DeSoto.

It was a great trip for Easter overall! The rooms need more than one trash can and they didn’t have a microwave or refrigerator. Other than that rooms were comfortable and accommodating! All the staff were pleasant and friendly!

Don’t fall for the pictures you see online

False advertising rooms with balcony. The customer service was very nice nasty because instead of trying to accommodate me and my husband they told us we could get a refund and go somewhere else. We drove 5 hours to get there, pre-registered and paid a $150.00 deposit. The whole experience was very emotionally exhausting, stressful, and traumatic. Luckily we were able to book another hotel for the weekend with a balcony.

The experience was great. The room was nice and clean. Temperature was perfect. The bathroom was clean. Towels were clean. The bath tub had a few broken pieces near the drain but, in my opinion, it didn’t bother my nice experience here. The TV was a bit small, it could be a bit bigger. The remote was a nice size. However, it was hard to navigate through channels, but we figured it out. Guest service was nice as soon as I approached inside. I was greeted by the valet servicer. Overall experience, its rate it an 8.5/10. I would come again.

Excellent location…walkable to everything! The pool area and the covered porch were so welcoming and relaxing. The concierge went above and beyond when my daughter left her stuffed animals behind…they got the royal treatment evidenced by pics sent from their adventures around the hotel. Will definitely be back!

No fridge in the room. Was told it would take a while to get a fridge in my room (we drove 6 hours..it was close to midnight.) I explained I wanted a fridge because I had food with me. Was offered to keep my salad in a room behind the check-in area. Umm. No. I want my food with me. Got to the room. Mind you I booked a room for my FAMILY. I have children. The tub has a massive crack, the sink has a crack, a light fixture (which is the least of the problems mentioned) in the bathroom is cracked. Gross. I would NEVER allow guests to stay in this room—especially guests with children—until it’s been repaired. As mentioned, we drove hours. If I want to take a bath, if my kids wanted to take a bath—thats our business. But we can’t. Because there’s a hole and it’s chipping. I want some of my money back!!!
