Twice messaged to ask if bar was open for the last day of holiday. No one got back to me. When I arrived I wax checked in then told… oh it’s just closed now! Room for three people but only things for two people. Disappointed .

Staff are rude.

The staff were plainly rude in the restaurant. The meal was a child’s portion and they didn’t like it when I raised a complaint. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Note that they charge extra if you want to use the gym.

The staff are really friendly. The rooms are nice and the surroundings very nice. There is a bar and restaurant. We sat out drinking beer on the patio, we used the golf driving range for a small fee. There is a swimming pool and gym on site. We didnt uae these, there is a £5 fee per use of these facilities.

Hotel is tired and need updating, Have to pay extra to use gym and pool. Cannot pre-auth card at reception for food or drinks during stay. Cannot open a tab at the bar either for food or drinks. Food is of poor quality, £6 for Aldi frozen veg. Electric charge points, none work

The pool was booked out by private parties most of the time, no room cleaning if you used the pool there was a £5 charge per head there room was hot and ventilation was poor not all rooms had a fridge i requested one and was told fridges were not available.... i had meds that needed to be kept cold , the prices in the bar are a bit on the steep side

Regrettably, I can say without hesitation that this was the worst hotel experience I have encountered in my 45 years of travel. The stay was marred by unprofessional service, poor maintenance, and a complete disregard for basic customer care. I was shocked by the substandard conditions and appalled by the overall management of the property. Summary of Key Issues: 1. Facilities & Room Condition No power sockets by the bedside—highly inconvenient and far below modern hospitality standards. No air-conditioning or ventilation system; windows restricted to 2–3 inches of opening, making the room hot and uncomfortable in warm weather. Rust in the bathtub and cobwebs on the windows—clear signs of poor upkeep and lack of cleanliness. Vending machines accepted cash only—a surprising and outdated limitation. 2. Staffing & Guest Service Only one receptionist handling check-ins for a 113-room hotel during peak season—resulting in long queues and unnecessary delays. The hotel appeared chronically understaffed. Employees were visibly stressed and overwhelmed, which affected both service quality and guest experience. A £5 daily fee to access gym facilities, which should be included in the room rate, especially at a hotel claiming a four-star rating. No room service offered unless staying more than 5 nights—a bizarre and unacceptable policy that contradicts industry norms. An awful hotel experiencem the place should be closed down.

The hotel staff were generally lovely. Particularly the older gentleman in the bar area. The gardens around the hotel had not been mown for sometime and the courtyard that our room overlooked had received no maintenance for some time. The rooms were generally clean but our bin was not emptied for the 3 nights we stayed. In the corridoor to our room, someone had put used bowls with left over food out the first night we stayed and these were not collected by the time we left. The stairwell had not been cleaned or vacuumed for some time with used glasses present and spilt sticky liquid staining the nosings of most of the steps. The volume of guests staying seemed to be a surprise to the catering staff, at breakfast time left many waiting for food to come out, and others waiting for a table. There were many options on the bar menu out of surply by the Sunday evening. Finally given this is was not a cheap hotel to stay at, I was really disappointed to have to pay an extra £5 per person per visit to use the pool facilities. I have never stayed at a hotel where guests had to pay extra for this. Surly it should be included as part of your room booking!?
