A message sent to the owner and GM: My wife and I arrived at your hotel at approximately 1 AM early this past Sunday morning, after having made a reservation through Expedia several weeks earlier. After we had called the hotel for a shuttle from the airport, which arrived promptly, we were greeted by an embarrassed Ashley, who told us that there were no rooms, despite our having a reservation. We were taken aback at this turn of events, at 1 AM, after having traveled since 7 AM from out of the country. She told us that the hotel had been overbooked, which was really unconscionable. In the midst of our astonishment, however, I was quite impressed with Ashley, and how far out of her way she went to get us alternative lodging elsewhere (not available) and how sincerely concerned she seemed about our situation. She showed tremendous empathy, and you are very lucky she works for you. Her late night associate - I believe his name was Mohammed - was almost as helpful as Ashley. As you likely heard, we were eventually able to secure a room at the hotel due to a very early departure of another client.
However, the situation in which we found ourselves was inexcusable. This was compounded by the shoddiness of your property. At most, this hotel merits a "poor" rating. The hotel is in a state of disrepair, is dirty, and is generally rundown. Your greatest assets are your personnel. Otherwise, the hotel does not warrant any clientele. This will be reviewed in Expedia.
