We would come back.

We got here early and the friendly person at the front desk was able to get us into a room right away. Breakfast was good, lots of choices, both warm and cold. Our room was clean and comfortable

Lovely decor, boutique feel. Fantastic breakfast choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the young men who work here. The pool is a good size but it needs regular cleaning as does the sunbed area - not swept or cleaned for 3 days. We had a room at the back which was very noisy with visitors leaving the restaurant - chatting for hours.

This is an excellent little hotel, pet friendly, a very short drive or cheap Uber away from Tavira. As others have remarked, it is not suitable for anyone wishing to walk in the immediate area due to the busy roads and lack of pedestrian access to countryside. We found the staff to be unfailingly kind and courteous, going out of their way to assist. The room was spacious with a balcony and everything one could reasonably expect at this price point, including coffee maker/ hot water dispenser ( pods from reception for a modest charge) and fridge.The air conditioning was efficient and adjustable. There was an extensive choice at breakfast, including hot and cold dishes, good cakes and pastries and a variety of milks such as soy and almond. The white coffee from the machine was unpleasant to our tastes, but was easily solved by microwaving milk of choice and using the separate espresso machine. There is a separate grill restaurant/ takeaway on site serving a good range of dishes at reasonable prices. It was well patronised by locals. The fumes from grilling were unwelcome at times depending on wind direction. The infinity pool was clean and scrupulously maintained. Towels were free of charge. Chairs and loungers available poolside. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as being of excellent value.

Hotel Don Rodrigues is a great hotel just outside Tavira. It’s a 15 min walk into town but you do need to cross and walk alongside a busy road. Bolt taxis into town were about €3.50. Rooms were modern and nicely decorated and the whole place was very clean. It was great having a pool and the breakfast was really good. All the staff were great and I would certainly stay again.

Lovely little hotel but location was not the best

Overall I had a really good stay. In particular, the staff at the front desk were amazing, friendly & helpful - Joao, Mario & Luis - the pool was lovely, my room was small but had all I needed. They forgot to replace my water the first weekend and we had to switch out my mini fridge, but any minor issues were always quickly resolved. The only downside of this hotel is the location. It is on the outskirts of Tavira on one of the main roads which was very noisy. I wanted to sit out on my terrace but the road noise was too much most of the time, and walking into town was a bit scary! Since I was on my own I did not have a car but I used the taxi service recommended by the hotel. Nelson and his wife Sofia were wonderful and ferried me to various places in and around Tavira whilst I was there. There is a restaurant behind the hotel but to be honest, it wasn’t that great. I wished there had been a bar I could have sat at with a glass of wine in the evening, instead I bought a bottle and took it to my room! The breakfast bar at the hotel though was extremely good with tons of options. When I left, because my check out was so early, they even put a food package together for me the night before, which was lovely. Overall, a really good experience!
