Poor service at the restaurant

We are building a house in the area and visit this hotel often starting a year and a half ago. The hotel front desk is wonderful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant service is very poor every time. No acknowledgement of entering the restaurant. Most recent visit waiting almost 15 minutes for server to ask our drink order. Another 20 minutes before able to order food. Servers are on their phones, watching the tv's in the room and not paying attention to the guests. Bartender cursing loudly. Not very relaxing. However, I must say the food is always delicious. Because of the service, we have decided to go elsewhere for our food which can be inconvenient after working along hard day.

The whole facility seem old. Walking down the halls was not air-conditioned very well. There was a moldy smell. The grossest thing was there was a pubic hair in the Keurig machine water containerin our room. So we didn’t bother to have coffee. I was surprised that there was no buffet breakfast. I don’t even know if they had a restaurant. Maybe they did but we just decided to leave and go out for breakfast. The hair clean beds and the air conditioning was cold, but that pubic hair kinda did us in.

It was comfortable and clean and the staff was great. But not serving lunch in the dining room, was an unpleasant surprise. And access to the hotel was difficult. It would have been helpful if the access on the west side wasn't blocked off since the front access is pretty narrow with a difficult to find entrance.

Front desk staff was very courteous and cleaning crew always did a good job. Beds were comfortable and lots of pillow. The cold water faucet in the sink worked only intermittently and poorly, the bathroom was very dated, and the parking lot is small where it needs to be big, resulting in long hikes to the entrance.

I’ve stayed in this hotel every time I visit Tyler. It’s centrally located and minutes from the event center. The rooms could use a bit of a facelift but it’s still a great place to stay.

We stayed in room 122. Bathroom smelled like urine. The room smells like chlorine( found out that the pool right outside of our window). The left side of one of the mattress was so uncomfortable. No support at all. The AC unit is right next to the bed and didn’t stop working all night even after increasing the temperature. Makes me think the thermostat was not working.
