I had a third floor room with 360 degree panoramic balcony view. I felt totally insecure - my balcony was adjacent to an observation tower constantly climbed by visitors. At 9 pm on the second night two fellows leapt from the tower onto my deck and crossed my deck two feet outside my bedroom window. I called the front desk they said "oh someone probably jumped from the tower" we'll tell security" I wasn't aware of security coming up. I barely slept after that. Next day I complained at checkout front desk fellow said the manager had been briefed on the incident and that I could likely expect some "compensation on my reservation". That was six days ago - I have heard nothing as of yet. As a solo female traveller I felt very unsafe and was extremely unsatisfied with the room. Also it turned out the restaurant was closed for renovations and that was one of the reasons I had chosen the hotel. And air conditioning system was antiquated and noisy.

I want to give them a 5 but just can’t. First of all, the location is ideal for taking the seabus over to Vancouver Island. It’s right next door. The area surrounding the property is clean and seems to be safe BUT it wasn’t. The parking is shared with the public market and it’s not secured. We paid for 4 days of parking and still got a parking ticket which we now need to dispute. Then…on the same night, our truck was broken into and our tool bag stolen. We carry it everywhere when we travel by car and it was locked securely in the locked truck bed. In the morning we went to load the truck to leave and the cover was pried open and theifs weapon of choice “, their own screwdriver, was left behind. If this hotel wants to match the quality of the restaurants and area then they need to secure the parking lot somehow. The restaurant was closed for renovations, which we knew about, and we were told that we would be refunded for our breakfast portion. We have yet to see it but understand it may take several days so we will be watching. The room had an amazing view!! We had the penthouse on the 4th floor and it’s all windows facing the sound and the lights of Vancouver. However note that the large Q sign can be accessed by stairs and anyone on them can see right into your room. So we had to keep that half of the windows closed. Only one elevator was working. The bed was comfortable and the room clean but the furniture is kind of cheap for what you pay.

Got the VIP, ( which was late check out, bottle of wine and breakfast up to $40.)but the breakfast was not available due to construction, and check out according to the man working the desk was 11 like every one else. Would not advise paying anything extra to the VIP package

We stay at this hotel as it's close to family in North Vancouver. Overall, hotel is excellent but room hasn't been updated in a while. Like the shops in the Market floor, and the updates to the quay and the proximity to the Seabus.
