The property was close to the event that we were participating with. The staff were friendly. Some guest like bacon and like sausage having the option would be great. There was no regular earl grey tea just flavored tea. The pillows were really uncomfortable and small/flat. The ceiling in the shower was peeling.

End of Summer Trip

My wife and I have been vacationing at Va Beach for almost 20 years. We have stayed at many hotels, mostly on the oceanfront. This is the first time we stayed at Fairfield. I think that overall, it was a good experience. The front desk staff was very courteous with check in and out. The room had some minor issues but was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the tv was larger than most other places we have stayed. One thing that was inconvenient was the shower door would not stay closed. When using it we had to hold it closed. The door was a modern design it just needed an adjustment. The safe was inoperable when we arrived but was immediately resolved by the maintenance staff. The breakfast was great. Many options to choose from and the staff kept everything maintained. The elevators were relatively fast. It would've been nice to have had parking garage access from each floor, but I realize that this was a choice from initial design. It was nice having bathrooms on the first floor to use while on the beach and not having to go all the way back to our room. Overall, we had a great trip. We would stay here again. I looked at many options for our stay and this was the best at this price point. Many of the other hotels charged extra for breakfast and for parking. I think that it is ridiculous to charge for parking. Most don't pay attention when booking and only find out when checking in that they have been up charged daily for something that should be included.

The stay was good but not for the cost. The location is perfect for walking. Be prepared to share breakfast with the flies (not sure if they are always a problem). Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not be a top pick when we return to Virginia Beach.

Hotel is a bit dated in some areas, but kept up pretty well. Staff were friendly, especially housekeeping. Nice breakfast, especially the waffles! Great views of the ocean and dolphin watching from the balcony. Location was perfect. Easy access to the boardwalk and pier, plus shopping and restaurants in abundance.

Our 3rd consecutive year here. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, different things to do in area for all ages. Walk in shower is nice. Bathroom is spacious. Indoor Pool is a bit small but most guests are on the beach. Complimentary breakfast are the usual items. Parking is fine. No elevator for upper level of parking. Have to use stairs, but as the days go by & people check out, you can move your car to street level which is enclosed. Balcony a plus. Close to shopping & outlet too. Hope to be back next year.
