I have stayed at this property dozens of times over the years. The upgrades are noteworthy. I was, however disappointed that when I requested early check-in (if available) to change clothes after travel to attend an afternoon funeral. My first request at time of telephone call to to make reservation, was met with notification that early check-in would cost me $50. Upon arrival at the property at 12:30 pm, I again requested early check-in; I was informed by the front desk clerk that it would cost me $35. Despite being unsure of what the exact charge would have been, this is a sorry policy, particularly since it would have cost you NOTHING~it is just pure opportunistic GREED.

The front desk staff was very sweet. The elevator was a little scary. It shook a bit and smelled of oil. Overall the hotel was clean and the staff friendly.

I picked up trash several times outside the hotel, even though there was a trashcan. There was a constant buzzing and a chemical smell in the only elevator available throughout my 9-day stay. Enjoyed the breakfast, especially the sausage biscuits and gravy. La Quinta really needs an illuminated marker sign at the corner when turning right from the off-road into the property. Virtually impossible to see that street after dark and you just have to know to turn before you get to the church.
