'Dood's Ranch' is a fully renovated, quaint mountain cottage on a horse farm setting, apprx 1 mile from downtown Waynesville and all it has to offer. Long range views of Wolf Pen and Lickstone Mtns on front porch, and views of famous Eagle's Nest Mtn from the spacious side deck. This conveniently located 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house boasts a full kitchen, a comfortable living room w/cable and internet, and a master w/bath on main. Unfortunately, Dood's Ranch is not pet friendly.

This property is beautiful. The host was excellent to communicate with. There were very clear instructions about check in and check out instructions/expectations which were all completely reasonable and understandable. The welcome instructions also gave a very interesting biography of "Dood" whose home it is. Fascinating gentleman. The only thing that was mildly disappointing is that it appeared, at least when we were there, the horse farm was either resting the field or has shut down, so no beautiful horses in front of the gorgeous mountain views. All that being equal, we will definitely be recommending Dood's home to all our friends and family. Give it a visit.You won't be disappointed

Dood's Ranch is how I dream all vacation rentals to be. Clean, cozy, and with a great host. The location was perfect for taking day hikes in Cataloochee and on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Close to amazing restaurants in Hazelwood and downtown Waynesville. We loved the views from the porch and didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying here and hope to be back in the future.

We arrived after dark and it started to snow later at night so we were glad for the front porch light and a heated house. We are from Florida and have vacationed in this area for many years and this is the first time it has ever snowed. We loved the scenery but hated the drive. The entire house was immaculate! Beautifully decorated. Our every need was met. We highly recommend this wonderful house. Only two complaints which the owner may not be aware: the upstairs bed was unstable with only one board to hold up the mattress also the window blind fell while being opened. We were not made aware of this from the couple who stayed in that room until we left or I would have left a note at the house instead of reporting it here. Other than that....we had a lovely stay and will return if able in the future. God bless the owners.

We came for a conference at Lake Junaluska and this perfect. 4 adults and one dog. The property was wonderfully situated to downtown and the lake. Everyone commented on how comfortable and convenient it was. The host was wonderful to work with.

Lovely Home

We went and stayed to see family, it was a lovely home with so many accommodations and extra’s. Convenient location and such a great host, he told us the house was ready and we could check in anytime that day. We have agreed we will be staying every visit we make there from now on, very pleased.

The location and layout of the house were perfect for our visit to Waynesville. Easy to get into town. A few minor issues on arrival but a quick response from our host got everything in order. For coffee drinkers be prepared to bring your own.

Doods ranch is a quaint home with all the conveniences for a really nice stay. All the necessary supplies were provided including shampoo & conditioners! The home was very clean & its location to downtown Waynesville was perfect. Would stay again.
