My husband booked this trip for our 5 year anniversary celebration as well as my 65th birthday. We were pleasantly surprised when we were provided an “upgrade” and found ourselves in a cottage! It was perfect for us! It appeared to have been remodeled and very clean!

I purchased a one night stay at the Carriage House Motel Cottages & Suites in Wells, Maine on expedia, never asking for a dog friendly room. When I arrived, I was assigned a dog friendly room and was charged an added $30. The office was closed, so I wasn't able to speak to anyone regarding this issue. So pleasant to walk into the hotel room and smell fresh, clean air and to see everything tidy neat and spacious. Very happy with this hotel and the manager, Chris, went above and beyond to answer our questions and help us out when we needed something. Wonderful, thick towels and plenty of them. The little Kitchenette was well stocked and very helpful and even included a hot plate! The beds were also super comfortable. We will definitely be returning to stay there!

Very nice studio in a historic building. Only downside was we were in the carriage house which required climbing a long outdoor staircase. A bit difficult and would have been good to know ahead of time. Studio was spotless and very thoughtfully appointed with kitchen essentials for simple meals. We only stayed one night but it would be a great place for an extended stay. Super comfortable bed. Staff was very nice and even offered a future discount for a small problem that occurred. Overall, would highly recommend, but request ground floor if mobility is an issue. They also have cute cabins!

1) Unfortunately, on the 1st full day of our vacation as I was heading to my car I stepped into a 10" wide divot in the parking lot, badly turning my right ankle and scraping my left knee. I believe it was the owner of rhe motel who came over to me. He apologized. But, a week went by and the divot was never filled in. I ended up with a sprained ankle and an avulsion fracture on the inside ankle bone. I was given crutches & an order to follow-up with an orthopedic doctor once I returned home. 2) The pool was cloudy a lot of the time. You could never smell chlorine nor did I ever see a staff person adding chemicals or cleaning it at any time day/night. 3) No one on staff was available on Saturday late afternoon to retrieve toilet paper. I used my roll of papertowels for toilet paper. I did leave a voicemail and toilet paper was found outside my room's door on Sunday a.m. 3) The Wifi was repeatedly going in & out in the evening during the week's stay. 4) The shower curtain was dirty all along the bottom with both black mold and water stains. Unfortunately, the property was not what I remembered it to be from a few years back. The host I originally spoke to during the winter was kind in allowing us to change our vacation dates after I had already put a deposit down for a different week (July). Thank you for that.

The place was a little old. The refrigerator wasn’t cleaned but I can’t say enough about the manager. He was so helpful and very kind. They had a pool and jacuzzis but we didn’t use them. They looked nice

This motel was so run down… Old furniture in the rooms, my room had a musty / dog smell and stains on the bedspread. The pool was definitely not heated and the concrete was cracked. They don’t clean the rooms at all - to keep costs down is what I was told! yet there was an envelope for a tip for the maid - I won’t stay here again
