Beautiful location and peaceful view. Food and drinks were wonderful at the restaurant/bars on the facilities. Friendly staff. Room clean and shuttle service to local casino. Overall, a nice getaway night stay for us.

Just a rundown remnant from 1980's Pocono days. Needs serious renovation. It may be fine if you're there for a wedding, get intoxicated, and need a room to crash in.

Our room to start, pillows very lumpy, bathroom door would not close, drawers stuck open and won't close. Wallpaper peeling. We came for the hot tub which was also broken. Pool water has way to many chemicals. We've stayed here several times this was the worst. Very disappointed

We were disappointed with the hotel. The website daid there was a jacuzzi. According to staff the jascuzzi has not worked in over 2 years. We were looking forward to using it. At check in, the staff did not tell me there would be a $5 resortfee for each day. I knew about the $100 deposit but nothing else. We had a family emergency and had to check out early, when we told the front desk, they did not seem to care. We will not be staying there again.

This property is run down. We could smell the indoor pool from our room and it smelled like a locker room. The food at the restaurants was poor. It was a waste of money. The only nice things was their new linens and towels. Maybe they are trying to rehab this place.

Mother’s Day getaway present. PLEASED.

The stay was great. I have stayed here before in March. The only thing about the room I had this time is the bed was a bit uncomfortable but not horrible. There was a small issue with Wi-Fi but had it back up and running in a couple hours. Everyone usually is unhappy staying here because what it USED to be. I do agree but the owners now aren’t going to put the money needed to put it back. It’s just fact. For the price of a steam side room and service, I still give a 5 star.

We got to hotel and front desk was very nice and quick. Dropped our stuff in the room, which looked nice, and went to check out the pool area. The pool was a little smaller than expected but still nice. We went back to the room, changed, and went out. Got back to the room around 1 a.m. and the toilet was running. We looked in the tank and the flapper was disintegrating. We called front desk and they offered to switch our room. Since we booked thru Hotels.com, night clerk couldn't give us an upgrade but gave us free breakfast (which was supposed to be complimentary) and drink vouchers. She also left a note for the manager..who doesn't come in until 11 a.m. We got to our new room, which was much more dated than the other. The AC unit was falling off the wall. I took a shower and lightly bumped the grip bar and it fell right out. There was dust everywhere. The bed was still comfy though. We went to breakfast the next morning and ate a crappy breakfast, staring at a sign that said "please enjoy your complimentary breakfast" while listening to the host greet people and ask for their vouchers or room numbers and how many people so they can charge them. I used one of my drink vouchers later that day to get a beer at the bar. I started drinking it and my girlfriend noticed stuff in the bottom of the glass. The manager doesn't come in until checkout is over. We would have had to plan our day around him to complain and try to get something out of it. No time for that in our busy day.

I booked The Woodlands online because it boasted an exercise room and an indoor pool — both helpful for loosening up after a long day’s drive. I found the exercise room “closed for renovations” and the pool to be so poorly ventilated, there was mold and wet puddles along the indoor entrance hallway, plus thick condensation on the inner doors. I did not want to risk exposing myself to such unhealthy air, so I skipped using the dimly lit pool (wondering, too, if the water clean). Instead, I decided to walk briskly around the grounds. This led me to discover dilapidated empty cabins dating to an earlier era — which would have been okay if the hotel owner had bothered to clean up the mounds of trash surrounding these cabins (I went online and read a history of this place… the cabins are, or were, part of the hotel grounds). The online photos and Woodlands name led me to believe the hotel was in a wooded setting. It is actually sandwiched between a four-lane city street and an interstate highway. I discovered a lovely stream on one side of the mostly unoccupied hotel, though I couldn’t see this from my assigned ground-floor hotel room, which faced a parked car and city highway. Overall my impression is that this hotel has seen better days. In response to my query, a staff member told me that the property had left the hands of the founding family during the business downturn caused by COVID. I like to support non-chain establishments, but I will not be back to this one.
