Staff was fine, breakfast was adequate but the accommodations really weren't comfortable, at all. Upon checking in I mentioned to the guy at the desk how the building looked under construction, he said "oh, they're just painting..." this wasn't true, as I read a sign by the elevator admitting it was under construction and an apology for any inconvenience. By this time it was too late to cancel my booking. Had I known this was the state of the building, I would have booked a different hotel. This should have been in the hotels.com listing because in their signage, they knew full well this was the condition of their facilities. So immediately, it's an irritating scenario. Since the building was under construction, the pool wasn't usable because the room was filled with building materials, this wasn't disclosed at the time of booking. The lighting in the room was atrocious with blindingly intense blue-ish eco-friendly bulbs. Only two really crummy thin bath towels were provided for two guests (Seriously, you couldn't just put 4 in there?) so I had to get more from the front desk. The top sheet on the bed didn't really fit the mattress so it immediately came off the corners of the bed. The "standard" pillows on the "king" bed had to be mashed into a ball to provide any support. The quilt was meager, most hotels have a decent comforter. The lackluster fitness center had a total of 7 dumbbells with little weight variation, not to mention an odd-number is in itself, odd. Awful hotel

Bait & Switch: pool still advertised-Closed 4 yrs!

Both the hotel and Hotels.com said the pool Was open. Their website says “Pool Maintenance” but the pool has apparently been closed since Covid. FOUR YEARS! I only picked this hotel for the pool for my kids. Bait and switch to pay $350+ in Auburn, MA.

Little to no parking as the building was being painted. The windows were completely blocked off with plastic due to painting. Faint smell of paint in the room throughout the stay. None of this would’ve been annoying if it had been communicated that the property was having renovations/painting and we had known to expect this. Other than slight annoyance the property was nice, just a heads up would’ve gone far.
