as always the warm cookies are a great plus and we usually stay at this hotel every time we go to Newark to see family. This time around we were placed on the 6th floor so we thought it might be nice and quiet - nope - there was someone in the room next to me that had their television up so loud that I could actually make out the words that were being said. It wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't after 10:00pm in the evening! Since I had to be up at 5:00am I didn't get much sleep until they turned off the television around midnight. The room was a little on the shabbier side for a Hilton DoubleTree with the sink showing a little bit of rust. Overall, we will probably return to the hotel again the next time we are in Newark visiting family, we just hope they update before that time.

I recently stayed here, and had a mixed experience. The room itself showed some wear—low water pressure in the shower, peeling wallpaper, and a shockingly loud toilet flush . An amenity bottle was empty, and the elevator moved noticeably slow. The couch in the room was worn and made a loud squeak when sat on, waking my spouse. I also ran into a small service issue when I attempted to place a to-go order while seated, and pick it up later; the staff plated the food and left it at the table instead, and it was cold by the time I returned. There are also a few things guests may want to be aware of before booking. The windows are thin enough that we heard sirens clearly from the 6th floor. The side stairwell does not provide an exterior exit without sounding a fire alarm. Turning the in-room fridge to its highest setting effectively turns it into a freezer. The body towels were rough, although the hand towels and washcloths were soft, and there were plenty of both. One small annoyance was a paper sign blocking the TV’s sensor, which kept the remote from working until we noticed and moved it. On the positive side, the room temperature was consistently comfortable, and the bed, sheets, and covers were all very comfortable as well, even though the pillows flattened almost completely. The bathroom nightlight was surprisingly helpful, and having a Starbucks and restaurant attached to the hotel added convenience during the stay. And of course, the signature cookies were a highlight.

Hotel is clean and cozy. Was greeted at front desk by Brittney she was very pleasant and helpful. Let us know about food within walking distance also had menus on hand.

Everything was great except for my check in. The guy at the counter, Dillan, set me up on the 6th floor near the elevators (605). I explicitly voiced my concern about elevator noise, which he dismissed outright. Turns out I was not able to get the rest I needed due to the elevator noise as well as other mechanical noises coming from the roof. Very disappointing. Apart from that, the hotel was wonderful and the the staff were very accommodating and kind. Newark is a quaint little town, and I would book my stay here again while traveling through business, but I will keep the elevators and 6th floor in mind so that I can have the rest I need.

The hotel was very clean and just perfect. The bar restaurant were so nice and very good. The entire staff made us feel very welcomed and the town is so friendly with good restaurants. We hope to be back in the area and stay here again!

The only thing I didn't care for is I miss my connecting flight. It was cuz they kept delaying my flight so my original booking got canceled and I had to pay a second time out of pocket and that irritates me cuz now I have to be charged twice for the same booking.
