The hotel is showing its age. Though the marina view is nice, the room needs some tlc. The hotel did appear to do some updates to the bathroom shower, but the trim tile was chipped and cracked in places. on the bottom of the walls, and on the sink We were on the 1st floor, and had pigeons roosting under our balcony, making alot of noise. Our balcony floor and railing had a lot of pigeon droppings. Though the hotel cannot control the pigeons, they can definitely control and clean up the balconies, and maybe discourage the pigeons from roosting. Continental breakfast - they tried, but hot cooked foods ( eggs, sausage) were of mediocre quality. Otherwise, they have oatmeal , cereal, eng. muffins, bagels, etc, and coffee and tea. They have waffles, but prepackaged that you put into a toaster.

Decent value for the price

Free breakfast was pretty good! The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. Nice to be next to a trolley station! Overall, the room and hotel amenities are a bit basic for the price... It would be nice to have a light in the entry way and/or closet so you can actually see. The room needs more outlets around the bed - the power strip that was installed only stretched to one side of the bed and didn't allow charging blocks to seat evenly. Not all the bulbs worked. The lock on the door didn't disengage all the way when entering from the outside so sometimes the door wouldn't open properly. There were belongings from a previous guest still in one of the bedside tables (items were turned in to the front desk). It would be nice to have a narrower and/or adjustable shower head - the water comes out a little too hard and wide so water gets everywhere regardless of how careful you are. And the hotel sign out front needs a new bulb so it doesn't flash intermittently.

Goonie stay

Stayed here for the Goonies 40th Anniversary. Great location, loved finding out this was where the cast and crew stayed back when filming. I didnt realize the trolley picked up right out front of the hotel until the day we were leaving. Next time I will use that to get to the area I needed to go, it was only a $1. Every room has a balcony.

This place was in terrible condition. Filthy carpet & furniture (also ripped), curtains w/ mold, sink didn’t drain, peeling paint. Sheets & towels appeared clean & staff were very helpful in refunding my second night (I couldn’t stay there 2 nights given the conditions).

The view and location are wonderful, and the beds were good. The staff was friendly. But the hotel is pretty rundown. The big complaint I have is that because pigeons roost on the balconies there are droppings everywhere and large piles that should be scraped off during room turnover. The balconies were really bad and there was no way to enjoy them and the lovely view.

We were highly dissapointed with the hotel property and the hotel. It was bad enough that we asked for a refund from Expedia 15 minutes after checking in. Before I start, let me say this: The staff however, was VERY nice. We reserved the king room with the wrap around balcony, the hotel is located under the Astoria bridge within the limits of the Atoria port authority. Upon arriving at the hotel, we noticed right away that ALL the property around the hotel was run down with old commercial fishing gear, junk ship parts etc. There were people of "questionable character" walking around throughout the parking lots of the property. When we checked in, they gave us a security pass so we wouldn't be towed by the patrolling port authority police. The hotel itself had a LOT of places on the building that were dilapidated and run down including the outside of the office and the overhead hotel sign. When we went to the our room, the room across the hall had a piece of tape on the door with handwriting that said " Beware of Cats" and the door was partially opened. The king room inside was VERY (1980s) dated, the carpets smelled very musty and moldy (however they seemed clean), the bed was high at the foot end and tilted to one side, the bathroom was questionable, and the outdoor furniture was all rusty. There was a panoramic view of the harbor but not very nice. We went back to the office and asked for a refund. They were nice and said okay.. I don't recommend this hotel..

Room was decent but check-in was not good. Arrived around 12pm even though 4pm official check in. First time asked if any rooms available yet. Was told few rooms available. So got lunch and went to museum. Came back around 3pm no rooms available come back at 4pm. Then arrive 15mins prior to 4pm. Was different desk person that refused to check anyone in until 4pm. This resulted in 30 guest waiting in the lobby as one person processed check-in. I wouldn't not recommend this place due to bad customer service.

If they told us they were benefit place for unhouse workers I would have been more understanding. They just said low on staff and wouldn’t check in until 4:00pm and there was an unmanageable line at 4. The view wonderful.
