We stayed in Cecil Hotel for two nights and it was a pleasant stay. Its a vintage hotel that offers a true Greece vibe! Small marbled frontage you will miss if you walk too fast, and marbled floor that's correct for the period. The antique elevator is fascinating, it still worked flawlessly! Clean room and definitely no bugs! Free internet and free continental breakfast on the first floor. Thumbs up!

Wonderful historic hotel filled with atmosphere and great details, such as the elevator and spiral staircase. Unbeatable views from the roof of the Acropolis! Friendly staff, and perfect location in the center of town. Highly recommend!

The location was amazing, very central and close to train station. Unique character to the hotel as well. Beds were a bit uncomfortable but other than that, no complaints. Hotel staff were always helpful.

Very near the market and Monastraki Square. Neat rooftop. Despite the hotel being older, there is some nice charm with the elevator and furnishings. Breakfast was ok, and it was available early at 7am.

The shower curtain in the bathroom needs to be longer as the shower now in use is short, leading to water splattering on the bathroom floor. This leads to a watery mess after the shower not to forget more work for the poor maids.

Hotel is basic. Breakfast just bread, sliced ham, sliced cheese, boiled eggs, cereal. No toaster. Rooms basic, tiny shower, noisy at night due to people shouting all night and traffic noise. The lift is a blessing for those with tender knees. Many hotels in Europe lack one. The included breakfast was fine, nothing special. Location is great. The tone of the place is rather somber, but the street vibe outside makes up for it.

Let’s break it down: 1) Excellent location! It’s right in the center without being over the line into the neighborhood I was told can be “unpredictable” and suspect. 2) Can’t beat the included breakfast in the cost which is rare to find these days. 3) I have to say, probably my favorite part was how hospitable the front desk staff were. I had a late departure, but they let me store some luggage after checkout and until my ferry left. They even went the extra mile and let me store my things there after I returned from the islands and had to spend the entire day in Athens waiting for my flight. This was exceptional and beyond expectation! 🙌
