For years coming to Barcelona on business and for pleasure, I have wanted to stay at this hotel. There was always an issue with availability and so it never worked out. This time, I was able to get a room, but was mostly disappointed. Most of the staff were excellent. The staff I had at the front check-in really couldn’t have cared less. I had a junior suite with a terrace. What I got was a room with a terrace that on one side was construction happening on another building and on the other side really nothing. There was no view. We were never notified at any time. The construction was taken place outside of the hotel. Working laid into the night back in America. I would go to sleep around 3 AM. At 9 AM the construction started. I talked to the front desk about this and they basically said there was nothing that they could do. I have stayed at five star hotels all over the world and they always inform you if there is construction happening in the area that is going to cause any kind of disruption. All I got was there was no other rooms available, and there was nothing they could do. They said that they would look into the next day as a possibility, but at that point, I didn’t even wanna have to unpack and then repack and then move and do it all over again. I got a nice room and paid like $650 per night for nothing. Very disappointed.
