Very courteous staff. The place is very dated but it's a good value for being so close to Beech Mtn (10 mins) and Sugar Mtn (25 mins) ski resorts. Room was well equipped with a mini kitchen and everything necessary to cook (Stove, pots and pans, boiler, toaster, cutlery, plates, bowls...) Quiet despite the proximity to the busy road, easy parking. Room is very dated and there were a couple of stink bugs I could have lived without.

I usually stay at the Smoketree Lodge when Im visiting the High Country. It is conviently located on Hwy 105 near Boone and the Avery county ski slopes. The staff are courteous and the rates are affordable. It also boasts an indoor pool and jacuzzi which is primo for after ski relaxing.

The beds were worn out and creaky. The remote control didn’t work (had batteries) just didn’t work. The garbage was overflowing in parking lot. The entire room sloped downhill.

Dated but staff was friendly and helpful! Heated indoor pool while watching it snow flurry outside was amazing for the kiddos. Large rec room for coffee and games with social activities. This place ain’t the 5star embassy but it was perfect for our lil family

Definitely older but very clean and great amenities, ~5-10 minutes away from Sugar Mtn so great location as well. We had to check in after hours and they were very accommodating with that.
