Loved how beautiful the area was. The bottled water at the gift shop was only $1 which was a nice surprise. The evening meal was very generous but the breakfast was a little disappointing.

The best thing about this property was the view. Guests should be notified before hand that there is no elevator to the second floor. There is only an elevator from the main entrance down to the dining room. Our room was also the farthest from the stairwell which is not great for senior citizens. Our bed was not comfortable. Because it was very cold, the window heater kept loudly turning on so that it was difficult to sleep. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and no spare blanket in the room. The only place to eat with sit down dining was in the main lodge. The menu was somewhat limited and no options for diabetics or people with nut allergies. We checked out a day early because the lodging did not live up to our expectations.

WE reserved a cabin so you'd think there'd ameneties like plates, spoons, pots and pans etc. However there was only glasses stocked. Very disappointing cause we had brought food to prepare. Thank goodness the fridge worked!!!

Needs an overhaul

I had no expectations as I have never stayed at a state park resort. The exterior was cute and quaint. The interior was surprisingly dated and ran down. Very worn carpet, damaged baseboards and walls, discoloration on furniture and in bathroom. The restaurant isnt open on Tuesday evening, which was a challenge because the closest food is a gas station 5 miles away. The restaurant did offer made to order continental breakfast, which was very disappointing. There is no cellular service on most of the property. I bet it was amazing 30 years ago, but its past due an overhaul.

The Cumberland Falls State Resort Park was a perfect jumping -off point to visit the area. I loved being able to take a hike from the parking lot down to the Cumberland Falls. After a long hike I spent time on the marvelous deck at the Resort. Such a beautiful and peaceful view.

The cabin fit our needs well. It showed as "well used" with peeling chaulk in the bathrooms, dripping faucets and strong smoke smell throughout from the fireplace. It was clean however and the scenery was beautiful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back!

Nice state park cabin

It was what you would expect from a state park cabin, but the beds were top notch. Everything was clean. The only inconvenience was there was still a smoke smell from the last fire in the fireplace. But it wasn’t overwhelming.
