Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
We had a two day stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft. Lauderdale-Plantation by IHG.
I was not aware of the $3 a day parking charge so it was nice of them to Comp this fee for our stay.
The good: Location is great.
The not so good:

The property is in a serious need of a complete refurbishment and my observation is that the property is not being well maintained and as buildings get older this becomes more of a challenge in keeping them in good order.
Lack of attention to housekeeping in our room:
Housekeeping never vacuumed our room.
After our housekeeping items that are normally replaced were not, specifically the plastic cups for water, the empty toilet paper roll was not replaced, The hand towels were left as is not replaced. I saw no card indicating if a “Green stay request…” no replacement is done so if you do want them replaced there is no way to let housekeeping know other than calling the front desk.
One wash cloth was not replaced and a small towel was left in place of the regular size bath towel I called the front desk to have these items corrected it took about 30+Min to get them to our room.
The towels were very rough not soft as if fabric softener was not used
The window looking out of the room needs to be cleaned appears that it has not been done for some time.
Tile in the bathtub wall had a crack in it and repairs to the bathroom and other walls were visibly apparent.
