The beds were very comfortable. We got fresh towels when we requested. HOWEVER...the front desk staff wasn't too friendly, I had to ask about breakfast area, no one told us about front desk cookies, I had to ask, and they were never available. I needed to use the desktop for work ( thankfully I bought my laptop) because the PC wasn't working and someone stole the mouse??? We had no iron in our room and had to wait 30 minutes for one ( after I called the front desk to ask of its status). My husband had gone downstairs personally to ask for one, but apparently no one wrote down the room number that was the reason for the delay. And the cherry on top...although breakfast on the weekend ends at 10 am, they had closed the entrance door at 9:30 am and would not bring out more eggs...

Perfect Weekend Getaway! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft. Lauderdale–Plantation for a weekend getaway, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable — the bed was heavenly, and the pillows were perfect after a long day out exploring. I also appreciated how quiet the hotel was, which made it easy to relax and recharge. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, with plenty of options for everyone. The location was ideal — close to great restaurants, shopping, and just a short drive to the beach and downtown Fort Lauderdale. Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend getaway, and I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

The representative at the front desk was very polite.until I took a photo of my receipt. Then,her entire demeanor changed. She said very angrily " Why did you take a photo of your receipt? I would've given you a copy,if you asked" I was a little taken back with her tone(and,the look on her face).So I stated"I like to have access to my receipts at any time.plus,I do not need anymore papers with me.So,she gave me my key cards and proceeded to the room.When we entered the room.We noticed there was no iron.So,I went to call the front desk.and,the room phone did not work ! So,I spoke with a housekeeper that was vacuuming out front of our room.She immediately stopped what she was doing and went to the desk. 5 mins passed by.and,someone came in to remove the phone. We waited for 15 mins.and,decided to go to the front desk to inquire.On the way there.we ran into the same housekeeper.We thanked her again.and asked her about an update.There was a gentleman about to walk past us.and,she said. "Oh,he can help you.he's the maintenance man" He heard the conversation. And he stated" I can't help you now. I'm not on the clock.I wanna get paid.I don't work for free" I looked at my watch.and,it was 4:02pm. Again,we were shocked at his response. When,we returned(later in the evening)there was a iron in our room. The next evening.when we returned back to our room(around 9:45pm) we noticed that our room was not attended to. The overall experience was below expectations. There was an unpleasant odor in the hallway, and one of the elevators was out of service throughout my stay. The bathroom fixtures showed signs of poor maintenance — specifically, a cracked bath pipe and dirty shower curtains. Additionally, the room had a noticeable odor that affected overall comfort. This property would benefit from improved upkeep and attention to basic maintenance standards.
