At first look, the hotel is very old. The carpet in the room was ancient and needed replacing and the room smelled musty. However, overall the experience was very good with a great breakfast, staff, wine hour and helpfulness when deciding where to eat. It is centrally located and within walking distance to beaches, parks, restaurants and shopping. I would likely stay there again.

The room was fine. The staff were great. Area was really convenient and close to downtown. Only con was my room was next to the back door, and there was a crazy woman banging the back door claiming she lived there. The staff came and handled her, but it was very scary to experience because it woke me from my sleep

Great service, and the room was so cozy and comfortable. Booed the cottage and had the whole unit to ourselves detached from the rest of the hotel, Had a fireplace with a TV and pull out couch. Me and my Fiance loved this stay, definitely a place to stay at in Monterey if you love history and timeless architecture.
