Lovely spot - we stayed in a top floor room with an incredible view and just overall great vibe with a balcony where we could sit and see the ocean. 5 min walk to the main Carmel strip. Morning breakfasts were perfect and easy. Definitely would try this place again :)

I normally give good hotels a high rating but this place needs an above excellent star. The photos online simply do not do it justice. This was a last minute on our way to San Francisco hotel stay. Its a tight squeeze pulling into the parking but there was available on street parking.. Loved my room, hotel lush gardens, waterfalls, breakfast delivered to my room, balcony, sitting area. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I will be back. We could not book another night as they were full. Shout out to Brittany reception and Julian helping with bags. love this place!

The hotel is really lovely, but the breakfasts were a huge disappointment. They deliver a box to your room per your order, but it was awful. For fruit, one orange, one awful apple and three little pieces of melon. The pastry was an embarrassment considering that there are several terrific bakeries in Carmel.

The proximity to Ocean Avenue was close, but also seemed secluded, away from the hustle, which was nice. The staff greeting us were very friendly and welcoming after a whole day of driving. The ocean view room itself was nice from the top (3rd?) floor porch, but limited, and still would recommend, as limited view is still better than no view. However, even with the porch door closed, we could still hear very loud and clear our next door occupant since they had their porch door open, another couple talking very loudly and also had their tv on at what seemed like full blast. We could hear their entire conversations and also what tv programs they were watching. Some would say this is a major downside, and was an annoyance at first, but we tried turning it into a game where we would make up stories about them based on what we were hearing. Other noise and smells traveled a lot as another occupant continuously went out onto their porch and coughed up their lungs at various times during the night and early morning. Cigarette smoke commonly wafted in by the neighbors across the street. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice, except the Jacuzzi bathtub didn't seem the cleanest as there were still a couple of hairs from previous occupant and the jets seemed dirty. The provided robes and amenities were excellent. For the price, would still consider staying again if circumstances were right, but would also look into other nearby places.

The hotel is very cute and the breakfast is a nice touch. Property is extremely clean and well maintained and staff if very friendly. The mattress was not the most comfortable and we had to request different pillows as the first were so tall we couldn’t sleep on them. There is no AC, which is common I guess in Carmel, but having to open door and hear the morning noise was a challenge, and it was still warm at night. The shower head in the accessible room should also be raised if you are going to sell it to others…

The room was nice and bed adequate. No air conditioning so a portable fan was in room. Would have preferred a ceiling fan as there was no cross ventilation, just sliding door. Room got hot during the day. Good parking included with room. Shower was very tight. Would rather have had large shower in place of tub. Breakfast was good and included. However, amenities are limited. No pool or hot tub or gym. Location is good.

Fun birthday trip with friends

The pictures don’t do this place justice! I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. The rooms and the hotel grounds are very well kept. I love the grounds with all of the details and sitting areas. The room was well appointed and I had plenty of space to unpack all my things comfortably. The beds are very comfortable. I also loved the balcony and patio in our room and the privacy screens between the rooms. We all loved the breakfast delivery every morning! The location was great and we were able to walk to most areas for dining and shopping.

The location was great, quiet and off the beaten path, but close enough to walk all over Carmel. The staff was awesome. Our only issues, other than the high price, was the bed seemed old, bouncy and uncomfortable and the free continental breakfast, ( you can choose different options)which was brought to the room in a cute basket, was lacking and minimal.

Cute hotel. Beautiful garden courtyard area, breakfast delivery to your room, easy to park and in a good location. Texting with staff for questions etc was also a great option for quick easy questions. Spacious rooms with a fireplace and jetted tub. Furnishings and carpet feel a bit dated but character of the place made up for it.

Nice place - no view

Nice spot a couple blocks uphill from Ocean with a comfy Zen vibe. Rooms nicely appointed most with balconies but not all with views. We looked at the roof next door - our only disappointment. The people upstairs were noisy. Get a room on the top floor with a view!

Fabulous Stay at Tradewinds Carmel.

Lovely room (room 19) with stunning view. We found this hotel to be spotlessly clean with very friendly staff. The condition of the property was like new. Overall the Tradewinds exceeded our expectations. Would stay again in Room 19.
