Good, but not great

The staff were great. Check-in was easy and quick, but the TV in our first room didn't work, so we were moved to the room next door quickly. The hotel is starting to show its age. Our door would not open from the outside when we were returning from breakfast. I discovered that I had to pull the door handle up to unlock the door. I think that the lock is simply worn out and doesn't work when pushing the handle down. The ceiling paint was peeling in a corner near the outside wall - looked like a leak had happened some time in the past, but the ceiling had not been repaired. The breakfast was better than most other "free breakfast" hotels where we have stayed. The coffee was especially good.

Older property that needs updated bathrooms mostly. Thye shower was old and therefore hard to clean - we did not use it as we were headed home anyway. The door caught on the carpet, so if it was left to close on its own, it did not. It had to be pushed closed, which is a safety concern. The bed was comfortable.

Overall my stay was great however cable service was down and we couldn’t enjoy the tv. We wasn’t informed during check in, if didn’t say anything we still wouldn’t have know. My husband had a cow over it.

The first room that we requested with a king bed was dirty with construction debris, chunks of sheet rock! The second room with two queen beds wasn't much better. The carpets were dirty with large spots. The caulking in the bathroom was unsightly and not professionally done! The light switches were dirty, the furniture and wood was marked and scraped and appeared dirty. The beds were three feet off the ground which made it hard to get in and out of for a 5'1", senior citizen. The lighting in this dark gray room was terrible with only two small lamps. The free breakfast, which we usually find adequate with fresh eggs, fruit and yogurt, etc.,was limited and not the greatest. However, the staff were very pleasant, courteous and accommodating. This was not a 8.2 star hotel!
